We really enjoyed our stay here! The rooms were comfortable- old yes, and thin walls (quiet time after 10pm), but OK with me because I wanted a quiet weekend away. The rooms had everything we needed - toiletries, hair dryer, nice linens, alarm clock, charger station, and drinking water. I loved the homey feel with the dogs and the cat. Rocking chairs on the porch were excellent for hours of sitting and talking, as well as the seating in the woods across the creek. And what a gorgeous collection of hemlock trees! The downstairs rock room was very cool with a great history, and a nice place to relax on comfy furniture with an honor bar of wine, soda, and some liquors. Breakfast was good too! If you like history, can do without every possible modern convenience, and don't need to be glued to a TV for your entire vacation, stay here!

Serendipity brought us to The York House Inn, and we were so pleasantly surprised. We were looking for accommodations in the area and they happened to have someone check out early! We had no idea the history or beauty of this place, until we walked in. |We stayed in the Rousselet Room- which is so beautiful, it was very comfortable and clean! I am extremely particular when it comes to cleanliness, so when I say something is clean I mean it! I felt comfortable touching anything and the floor was clean enough to walk barefoot. ||The owners were very friendly and breakfast was superb!

Nice place if you prefer rustic and historic accommodations. Breakfast was on par with any good b-n-b. Unfortunately, either the floor or the bed were uneven, had to sleep with my head at the foot of the bed. No tv in room either. Maybe the suites were better maintained. We were there for a day of white water rafting and a day of zip lining. Great location. Could be a better value for what you get

I found York House Inn when looking for somewhere to stay for a friends wedding in Sky Valley. I had never done a bed and breakfast before, but I definitely made the right choice. The room was adorable and clean. The staff was so friendly and the breakfast was delicious! I would recommend it to anyone and will definitely be back!!

This is a very cozy and quaint bed and breakfast. All the rooms are decorated very nicely, beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are excellent. The owners are very nice and hospitable. The breakfast is incredible. Great place to get away. Beautiful views and the mountains near by are beautiful. I'd go there anytime I will get a chance. Have done 3 weekends there already.

We stayed here in spring of 2018, and had a great time. The host was gracious, and the breakfast was delicious. The weather was overcast and foggy, which kept a lot of people away from the nearby Tallulah Gorge. I'm not sure why people complain about the location. Downtown Clayton had several nice restaurants, and there's beautiful natural scenery. The Foxfire Museum is also worth a visit. Unfortunately, recent reviews suggest that the Inn has changed owners, and gone downhill. That's sad, if true.

A group of friends and acquaintances chose the York House Inn for our Inaugural Couples' Game Weekend, and it was a great decision. The rooms (and robes!) were comfortable, and the downstairs Roc Room was a great option for hanging out together as a group during the day and after hours. Breakfast was delicious. Spooky and Dixie (the owners' cat and dog) are also added bonuses that we weren't expecting when we arrived.

My group has stayed at this lovely Inn several times, and we will keep returning when near the area. Thanks to those up early making a marvelous breakfast. The stay was delightful each time, with a special appreciation for the basement, rock walls, bar area where guests can gather, listen to music and watch a movie.
