The food is definitely NOT what it used to be. So disappointing! The maccaroni and cheese is noodles with yellow sauce, no flavor. The sweet potato was good. It's not worth going back.

I have to admit I hate leaving a review like this without having experienced anything else in person. Here’s a bit of my experience:

I called the day before to see if brunch reservations were available at 10:30 on a Sunday for 10 people. The employee answered with a “Hello” instead of the typical protocols. Oh well…

I continued to inquire and the employee said a reservation wasn’t required and that there would be tables available.

Awesome!

Fast forward to Sunday…this establishment is not open until 11:00 and doesn’t serve Brunch!

I now have my entire family left in the wind to scramble.

Unacceptable…so much for supporting local businesses…

Tosha and I ‘s first experience at Yellowhammer and it was a treat. She had the 4 vegetables plate that included squash casserole, cabbage, lima beans, rice w/ brown gravy on the side and cornbread. I went for the country fried steak w/ brown gravy, squash casserole, cabbage, lima beans, cornbread, and a roll. Everything was so delicious that Tosha made the comment: “Yellowhammer Bistro is the best Meat & 3 in town!” Atmosphere was given a 4 of 5 stars because the first booth we came to had a sticky table top. And to the gentleman (I believe you were the owner or manager) that I shared an encouraging conversation with about OUR TEAM….ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Food was pretty good. Ox tails and rice was great. Baked chicken was average. When you go in you place your order at front they will give you a number and you seat yourself. Hopefully waitress will check tables more often. Food took about 30 mins...maybe due to it was semi crowded.

Oh the audacity. This place was incredible but they had no business making that meatloaf taste so good. The gall to make that corn crisp AND creamy, those mashed potatoes whipped to perfection. They even made the cornbread muffin moist and the sweet tea like some proper Alabama sweet tea. They were out of most of the desserts but it's probably because they were as good as the peach cobbler I got. It was all perfect and the portions were generous. With all my food dessert and tip it came out to about $20 and was worth every penny.

i went here for lunch and got a togo order. I ordered the cheese burger and wing combo.. the burger was okay it had 2 pieces of cheese, lettuce and tomato on it. my wing flavor was mild and it was extra spicy. I ordered a patty melt and peach cobbler. The patty melt was good, coulda used more seasoning and the fries were plain need seasoning on them though and the peach cobbler coulda had more crust. the customer service was good and the environment is warming. they cook everything to order. I would go again but i would get something different
