A friend and I stayed at the Wright House Bed & Breakfast for just one night on a girls' getaway trip. We chose the Wright House because we wanted to stay somewhere a little different, as opposed to the typical hotel/motel beside the interstate. There is little info available from past guests (a part of why I'm writing this review) and so I felt a bit nervous but I can now assure potential guests that we both said we'd stay there again with no hesitations.||Because we wanted 2 beds we made a reservation for the largest room - the others just had one king bed. Each guest room - there are just 3 - has its own bathroom nearby, so no need to share or to make long trips down a shared hallway. Very convenient. We found everything to be clean and comfortable.||Burt, one of the two owners, helped us carry our belongings from the car to our room and invited us to come downstairs when ready for the tour and a cold drink. He took us through the guest-accessible areas with just the right amount of tour guide information. The house is quite fascinating - the more you learn, the more you want to know! The decor is a collection of antiques and furnishings appropriate to the style of the house, plus numerous other items that fill the walls and any empty space - you see something new to the eye every time you look.||As others have said, breakfast was delightful and at a delightful time for travelers not in a hurry to hit the road: 9 am. Nicely presented and delicious: fresh fruit, quiche (tailored to my request as to ingredients to avoid!), and chocolate chip muffins. Burt is so personable that we found ourselves taking his time - which he originally intended to use to get some work done while we ate - with more conversation and questions. He was a most warm and gracious innkeeper.||We did not have wi-fi in our room - might be more available elsewhere in the house - but for one night, we were fine without it. Everything else a traveler could want was a part of our stay, with a charming host, too. Now that my friend and I have returned to our own homes, we find ourselves emailing or texting back and forth about various details of that visit and they are all positive! We would certainly speak highly of the Wright House to anyone who is thinking about staying somewhere other than the ho-hum faceless hotel - just do your best to call well in advance for a reservation. The house "season" is generally from around June through October, maybe into early November, so do be sure to contact them; they do not operate just like a hotel does. But then...they are not just like a hotel and that's the whole point!

This house was built with a secret place for runaway slaves. You are given a wonderful tour of the home. So many collectibles to look at. We were welcomed and shown to our suite. We liked it so much we stayed another night. The breakfast was homemade quiche, fresh fruit and muffins.,,,excellent. You would really enjoy staying here.

Was the best experience of our life. First Bed & Breakfast stay. Was skeptical. But meeting the owners really changed our life. During the tour & your stay. You can honestly feel as if you were really there, in the past. Looking at the handprints left there, so many years ago. In such a tiny place. Left you with feeling their pain. The memorabilia they've collected thru the years is like being in a museum. Seeing the leg irons & shackles labeled as infant & children. As well as the adult male, adult female, etc really puts chills on you. The knowledge they share with you of the home, town, time period as well as many years that followed & the history of all that happened & events that took place. Cannot be taken in at just a one night stay. You will have to go back. Each time you return, you take in more & more. And the Breakfast quiche is absolutely to die for. We hope that Burt & Sterling will continue keeping it open for our children, grand children, great grand children & many others to come. I couldn't imagine returning to Springboro & not stopping by.
