This place is so cute! It’s like a little piece of Chicago in Arizona. The service was excellent and the gentleman working was so nice to talk to. The food was exceptional! I felt like I was downtown Chicago eating a Chicago dog and pizza puff. We ordered Chicago dogs, pizza puffs, cheese fries and the chili cheese fries. We will definitely be back!

Great little snack store Windy City Hotdogs. Awesome shaved ice, not so much shaved as it is a snow cone but tastes really good. Few different choices of flavors. We've had the Nacho Supreme, Chili cheese fries, hotdogs & just about every flavor of shaved ice. All pretty dang good. Inside a great big park with a huge playground, baseball field, skate park & a waking trail that goes around the whole park. Ramadas & charcoal grills.

I wish I could give a 10 star review. Sent my wife to get the dorito bowl and a Chicago dog. My phone autocorrected dorito to dormitory bowl. The owners response was hilarious. Great sense of humor and overall great price and portions. The food was 100 out of 10. I will for sure be coming back more often. I never knew about Windy City Dogs due to it's location. Thank you for making my day better with laughs and good food. 💪

Loads of room for improvement here. First time dining here; so where to start? First is finding the place. It’s located by a park and El Mirage City Hall and municipal facilities. Once inside it’s ala carte - no combos or meals; and no fountain drinks. I had a Chicago style hot dog, fries, and a bottle of Pepsi. Everything packaged to go. I sat outside which wasn’t too bad with the sun shining on a partly cloudy and cool day. The hot dog seemed to be on point with all seven condiments, and seasonings. Something was lacking… mustard, chopped onions, and celery salt. The dog (Vienna beef) was good. The French fries were a bit soft and mushy, and could have been crispier; and salted. When I was finished I went back in having noticed they sell Green River soda. It’s unique, tasty, and refreshing. Service could be better. I was the only customer at that time in the midafternoon of 3:00 🕒 I had to shout “hello” several times. The woman was an odd sort as she made known that she didn’t care for Chicago food… except the pizza… she loved Chicago style pizza. Last thing that kind of concerned me; there are no bathrooms. The park has facilities, but if closed you’re on your own should nature call. I’m not sure how a restaurant gets away with that one. I hope this place makes improvements. I’m new to the area and love a good Chicago style hot dog. And I see Portillo’s is on Waddell Ave. I’m up for another try.

We ordered two medium shaved ice, they were huge. One was a Blue Hawaiian and a blue cotton candy with cherry flavor. I also ordered a hot pickle lol. Wonderful service I believe last call for hot food is 6:45pm. Good place to cool off during the day from the skatepark or basketball court next door!

I read a lot of the reviews and we decided to go give it a shot. The location itself is small and quaint, but very well set up.
I can see based off of where the location is at why it may take a while to get served. Its located at a big park with fields and skate park, so I can see why it gets busy. However we went around 1pm today and it was dead. We ordered and the food was out quick.
My reasoning for the 3 stars is simple. The cost of the food is just for the item you order. I was hoping to have a bag of chips or fries to go with it, but they seem to be sold seperate. I asked about combo deal and the lady said it's all sold separately. 1 Italian Beef sandwich, Gatorade, and small shaved ice cost just shy of $14. Little steep for a meal with only a sandwich.
My partner ordered a Chicago style hotdog, Gatorade, and Chicago tamale and it cost him just over $11. The dog was good but the tamale was microwaved and all mushy.

I am a native of Chicago and it's very difficult to find comfort food and food that tastes like home. Windy City dogs has great comfort food and reminds me of home.
