Voyager RV Resort - Tucson, Arizona

We loved our stay at Voyager. From the moment we got there, the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. We were shown to our site, which was a pull thru RV spot. The spot itself was very large, with a cement pad for the patio. I appreciated that the park recycles! (Doesn't happen in most we've been to) The pool/hot tub area was very nice, clean. The park is large with plenty of places to go on walks. There are 3 different dog parks, one with grass! I also appreciated having a mail room onsite where I was able to mail out some packages. We also liked that they had a convenience store and a restaurant/bar on the premises, the food was tasty! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back!

I was considering buying a retirement home but after reading non stop places on the market, it’s a total red flag for me . Nothing wrong with the homes I have loved a lot of them . I just worry why people are selling, so many of them

Dog tolerant, not dog friendly. The "dog walk was gravel and large rock ditch that is truley a water run off. I would have ended this review but they will not let it be less than too hundred words to hit the submit button, I found this place to be a fun comunity but not a place for acamper with a dog to stop at for a one night while traviling day. Too big for needs of a one night stay while traveling. My mistake.

We traveled to Tucson to attend an event and explore the area with an eye towards retiring there in early November 2024. I did not realize that this property was retirement property in addition to a golf resort, RV park and a hotel. After we had lunch at the restaurant at the resort (tasty food and good service) we walked around the property and liked what we saw. We decided to explore retirement accommodations with property staff later in our stay. We went to check in and learned that we had been upgraded from the roomI booked to a casita because the hotel was having problems with the Internet. The Casita was nice and suitable, but during our short stay the internet did not work there at all. Tired after our long drive we rested. We woke up around 7PM to find that we'd left the lights on in our truck and the battery was dead. I immediately called AAA and found myself dealing with their after hours bot; not an easy task. I finally got through to the point where I reached AAA (just in the nick of time) and set up a technician to come for battery service. During this time my husband called the front desk (seeking advice for weary guests who'd prepaid just over $450.00 for 2 nights accommodation for 2 people). We learned that the front desk closes at 5 PM, so my husband contacted the guard at the front gate who was on duty until 8 PM. He told the guard about our dead battery and asked if he knew of a local garage who could contact for service in case we could not reach AAA. The guard laughed, replied "I can't help you." and hung up. My husband was not at all happy with this shocking lack of basic concern for paying guests welfare. Fortunately the AAA technician called and reassured me that he was familiar with the property and not to worry. That was a relief to me because when I called the front gate to tell the guard that an AAA technician was on the way all he wanted to know was what time the technician would arrive. It was clear to me that the guard wanted to leave at 8PM. The technician arrived and resolved our battery problems. We packed our bags, put the keys in the envelope with my name and Casita number on it and dropped it in a drop box as we left. We came and left on November 1, 2024. As I write I received a receipt for the money I spent on Voyager, but no one on staff has either called or emailed to ask me what happened. Kindly keep this true story in mind if you consider booking this property.

Went to Tucson for a show and some research work for our retirement. We made reservations for two days and were looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Upon arrival, we had a nice lunch in their restaurant, and scouted around, as we were too early for check-in. When we did check in, we were told that we had been upgraded to a casita, as they were having problems with the hotel's internet. We happily accepted the upgrade. Upon arriving at the casita, we found that there was no internet at all. Having just driven nine hours, we decided upon a little rest. And that's where the train came off the tracks! Mistakenly, I left the lights in the car on. When I realized my error, it was too late, and the battery was dead. I tried to call the front desk and was routed to someone in security. When I stated our predicament, the guard laughed, and stated he couldn't help us. We had hoped for some guidance, as the gate closed at 2000. I hung up and tried to reach AAA. Luckily, we called just before they went off for the night (1900), While waiting, I walked over to the front office, and saw a sign that stated that the office closed at 1700. No night clerk, no nothing! I walked back to the casita and awaited AAA. During this time, the lack of any customer support, and the attitude of the security guard clearly sunk in. We packed and packaged up our keys, etc. When the AAA man arrived, he told us that he'd had numerous calls from Voyager, to handle the same type of issue. Then, why did we receive no support, nor customer service from the security guard? On the way out, we left our keys and a note at the exit badge drop. Based on our encounter, we have dropped any plans for retirement in Arizona. The staff at the Voyager are a principal reason for this decision.

I just can’t get over how tight these RV sites are. I can’t look past it to find anything good with this place. RVing for 7 years, and this is definitely one of the tightest, crammed in places.

We used this campground for a week's stay while we explored the Tucson area.

Pull-through FHU, 50/30/20, pedestal tall enough for watchdog to clear ground (barely), water. Faucet on water leaked a little. 3" threaded sewer. Gravel site with a very narrow concrete sidewalk. +0.5, -0.7. Able to level with just auto-level. Site is very long - much longer than coach and car, but very narrow. The only way two coaches can fit in adjacent sites is that the sites are set up opposite facing and because the sites are so long, the coaches end up at opposite ends and so are not side-to-side.

Site had a cable tv hookup but we couldn't get any channels using it. With OTA, we received all three major networks, plus a bunch of the usual OTA channels.

4 bars 5G V, 3 bars T, good AT&T data.

The office had our packet ready when we arrrived, and we were escorted to the site.

The campground is interesting in that it is in the center of a huge long-term 55+ park trailer / manufactured home / community.

Our site had us facing a row of these long term park trailers.

Roads were easily navigable with the coach. Definitely big rig friendly.

Because this is a long-term residential community, they have a wealth of activities and amenities. They also have what appears to be a decent restaurant.

Garbage and recycling roll-out bins picked up weekly

Two laundry rooms. Main had 16 working washers, 16 out of order, 28 dryers $2.00 per load each. Machines used quarters - no change machine, and the office had none to buy. Or, you could install and use an app to pay. Other had 12 & 12 plus two large load machines.

Easy on-off the highway.

Tip:
La Estrella bakery in Tucson is a little bit of a drive, but prices are very reasonable, and their bakery items are fresh and delicious.

We have stayed here several times in the past when traveling on 1-10 and Voyager has been our favorite stop. This time we had just finished the Tiffin Raly and wanted to spend a few extra nights with our RV friends. First
I called and tried to book us both together but after two attempts nobody answers and then when you leave a message, twice, nobody calls you back! So we book individually on line and request to be next to each other. When we arrive they said we can’t put you together as we don’t have two sites side by side available, REALLY, the place is empty!

On the positive side we always enjoy the wonderful facilities and numerous activities.
The resort is dog friendly with big dirt parks. We really enjoyed the on site cafe, Fat Wiley’s sports cafe where we watched Sunday football and had dinner. Loved the shrimp stir fry with orange garlic sauce and the drinks, all were good and priced right.
The reservation system and front desk system were a disappointment but our stay was good even though our site location was
Poor.
