Got the over-nighter, it was awesome. The bun was light and still crispy - had kosher salt and fennel seed, which was a great addition to the sandwich.

The beef was tender, moist, and cooked to perfection.

The restaurant is quirky and has so much 'local' personality.

I loved the sign offering customers a $25 reward for reporting employees who don't use gloves in handling food.

I've lived in Wallingford for 2 years and finally tried the deli - so glad I did.

Highly recommend, especially for a quick lunch bite.

I tried Vinny's for the first time and all of the superficial beauty that someone might think, at first glance, makes up for a downgrade in quality or service, and discovered, nothing could be further from the truth. There is no hype, just a great deli team of happy people loving their jobs. Vinny is on site, knowledgeable and as helpful as everyone. I felt the spirit of Elvis Presley and the look of a deli in Time Square, with a very local touch. I skipped the roast beef this time and went with the Leo, #58, hot corned beef (made in house), melted Swiss, thousand islands, and cole slaw on a hard roll. When I tell you this was great corned beef and an incredibly tasty sandwich, I mean like heaven. Corned beef was tender, tasty, fell apart perfectly and melted in my mouth like cotton candy. I think I've found the deli I will always think of first when I think of the greatest.

Drove over an hour to get a hot Roast Beef Sandwich. Got there about an hour before they closed. Was really impressed with store itself. Very well thought out, nice place!
So my purchase was simple.. Hot roast beef on a roll with au jus and a slather of mayo.
A small side of macaroni salad and a bottle of there brand Root beer. Just over 20 bucks for order.
Macaroni salad was excellent.... But my sandwich, come on, king of roast beef?
My sandwich was small, beef was way to well done, and dry as can be. Sandwich was actually terrible. And extremely overpriced for what I got.
Sorry but First Impressions stick!

Abbigail is in her Elvis era and Vinny's Deli in Wallingford, CT has an Elvis theme. We went today for lunch, it was a good time, good subs! It’s definitely beloved by the community, and the Deli loves them back!

Saw Vinny’s on the news last night because they allow people to buy meal vouchers for anyone who needs a meal to come in and use. So I decided to try them and buy a couple of meal vouchers. I got the #58 (The Leo - similar to an Reuben but cole slaw instead of sour kraut) and it was a really good sandwich - a good bread to meat to sauce to everything else ratio. It was better than a very popular NYC deli that I tried last month (and much more reasonably priced too!). I also got a bottle of Vinny’s root beer, which had a really nostalgic taste to it. The staff was really friendly and the place was really clean. I’ll definitely be back to try more sandwiches and a couple more meal vouchers*.

*Help other people when you can, even if you don’t see the results. You never know when you maybe the one asking for help.

Sandwich was small and skimpy
on the meat. Very underwhelming & disappointing for a not cheap sub . More bacon than roast beef . The flavor of the Roast beef was good and tasted fresh.

Vinny’s is a place I’m always happy to spend my money! The staff and owner are always very welcoming and friendly. I try to get a different sandwich every time I go and they are all always great.
