I stayed for ten fabulous days in this lovely cabin with a view. Everytime i opened a drawer or cabinet there was another thoughtful suprise,from sunscreen to feminine products. The place was crispy clean,stocked with basics plus,even books and local travel guides. The balance of fun kick back beach retreat and class with the decor was wonderful, mermaid and dolphin sculptures mixed in with cutely painted signs and seashells.There was even a tiny espresso cup and saucer by the coffeepot! The neighborhood was wonderful,safe and convieniently located close to the beautiful Brookings harbor,shopping,restauraunts,and right on the river. The owners Doug and Jim stayed a few nights in the cabin next door to us and were so charming and lovely! It truly was an amazing experience that i hope to repeat soon. Thank you so much for a phenomenal stay!!

BEWARE...you will encounter homeless on a daily basis. They sit on the porch,use the trashcans, dig in trashcans and use the property waterhouse. I found stolen empty prescription bottles in my trashcan. The other property right next to mine had been broken into twice in a month, stealing all of the ladies things. Local Sheriffs Dept was notified before I had to leave due to unsafe circumstances. Host was made aware of the homeless using the water and all he could say was "awwhhhh I wished Brookings had more for the homeless." Doug, the host, double booked the place and I was still charged for the week I had to move out. Still have not recieved my reimbursement. Do not rent this place..IT IS NOT SAFE!

This place was filthy when we arrived for our 3 month vacation. It was dated, NOT rustic. The bedding was stained and dirty. The bottom sheet had remnents of mattress padding stuck to it . Faucets in kitchen leake d. One of the 2 19 inch TV was missing a power cord, the decwas unsafe and the railing was not joined at the corner where there was a deep drop off. The toilet had a one inch gap in the front. The bed was queen sized, no king as advertised. The kitchen was poorly equipped, scratched pots and pans, 2 dinner dishes, 2 bowls, some cracked. To be fair when we complained to the owners, he responded by sending a handy man to fix some of those issues, but he was not that good and had to come back for a redo, on the toilet. His so called plumber helper pulled the toilet, replaced the wax ring but somehow let part of the old wax ring to fall in the pipe, and of course it baced up. When the toilet was reset it even had a bigger gap in the front. We threw our hands up, bought a tube of caulk. THIS was supposed to be a vacation/Holiday. NOT a nightmare!! We fault both the owner and Holiday Lettings for not maintain this property to suitable vacation standards, unsafe practices in upkeep and cleanlines, false advertising, and the failure of Holiday lettings to make a good effort to verify the rental listing meet standards of decency. If you are thinking about renting this place BEWARE

I stayed for 10 days in August. The neighborhood was quiet and safe,conveniently located near shopping, restaurants, river,beaches and the beautiful Brookings harbor. The attention to detail was amazing,providing things that I'd never expect,from sunscreen and feminine products to books and local travel guides. The owners Doug and Jim were lovely and charming. The decor itself was beachy cute with unexpected touches of class,like mermaid and dolphin sculptures. In a world that has such loose ethics and morals where people steal everything not nailed down😱, not one generous gesture was skimped on or withheld. The view was amazing,the place crispy clean,and there was nothing but a sorely needed and phenominal oasis offered to me here. Thank you gentlemen for such a lovely stay...i can't wait to return as soon as possible to stay as long as possible!!

Lived here for 3 months while on a work assignment. Cozy and comfortable. Close to town. Lovely view.
