As a motel in Tucson, I highly recommend it. The rooms are clean and spacious.

There are no non-sketchy areas in Tucson unfortunately, but the owner at University Inn has made good effort to provide security and comfort to his guests. He carefully watches who enters and exits the property, so this is a great place for non-locals, especially visiting academics who might otherwise feel wary of Tucson.

University Inn is a 60s era motel that has been refurbished and reconditioned. The rooms are clean and quiet, the facility is secure, the staff is friendly, and the price is fair. It is also only 5 minutes away from the historic Presidio district and downtown Tucson. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a basic, no-frills place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay here. It is very close to campus, which is why we were in Tucson. It is on a busy street with a park next door but they have a large fence around the parking lot so anyone coming on property would have to go by the cameras and lights of front office. We saw no one who shouldn’t be there, so we felt safe leaving our car. They have EV charging if you need it.

Our room was clean and a good temperature. We got there several hours before checkin for a football game and they were in the process of installing a brand new big screen tv in our room. The owner was very friendly and we left all our bags in the room and headed to the game. He described this hotel as “his baby” and I believe it.

We got the room with 4 beds so it had an extra bedroom which has its own AC. Nice bathroom with modern fixtures, mini fridge, microwave, ironing board, coffee maker. Big screen tv in the main room. They blend in well so I missed them at first, but there are USB and outlet plugs in the middle nightstands. The beds and pillows were all comfy. They give you the login for the WiFi.

Nice little small business owned hotel very near campus and we would stay here again next football game visit.

No customer service. Customer service is a huge part of running a business especially hotel. They have a contact page on website but why have it if they never respond. Tried calling, no answer. Emailed as they list email as a contact but again, no response. Giving them another 24 hours and then I will cancel my reservation if I don't hear back. I would think giving them one week to respond is enough. 🙁

I hate leaving a negative review, but I'm at a loss for what to do. My wallet was stolen on my way to this hotel, so I had to cancel. I lost all my identification as well as my debit card and would therefore not have been provided a room even if I had shown up. They refused to refund the two nights I had reserved but was unable to stay. Not a single service had been provided nor could it have been, but they still took my money. The company I ordered through reached out to them a number of times as well but to no avail. It really sucks. I've stayed there before and thought it was great, but their "company policy" supposedly won't allow them to refund me for a service they couldn't even provide. I didn't expect to be robbed twice in one day.

Overall pleasant stay. I normally don’t stay at motels because of bad experiences but this one exceeded my expectations. Staff was friendly, parking lot was clean and safe. They have a couple electric vehicle charging stations. The room was modern and clean. Would stay here again.
