Absolutely enjoyed our stay! The staff was super friendly and helpful. We loved patty. We stayed against the creek it was very peaceful. Amenities such as bathhouses are really clean and roomy. Plenty of room for families and individuals just trying to get away. There is plenty of outdoor activities. Staff will let you know of any activities that the park has going on along with the nearby city of Helen. One of our days was a nasty rainy day and there was an art festival that the staff let us know about and it turned a rainy day into a great day and saw different historical sites that the festival had partnered with. We really enjoyed. Additionally Anna Ruby falls is right there at the park and it's a paved hike all the way to the falls 10/10 would recommend!!

I typically avoid leaving reviews, but after my second night here, I feel compelled to share my thoughts. I recommend looking for other accommodations if you're traveling with children. There were shingles coming off the roof, and construction materials and dumpsters littered around the property. The restaurant hours, shuttle service, and breakfast options were extremely disappointing, with nothing seeming to be open. Although we paid for some entertainment on-site, the overall maintenance of the facility is concerning. I regret not reading the reviews beforehand. The TV in our room wasn't functioning, there was an unpleasant smell inside that suggested a leak, and there were no games available by the fireplaces for entertainment. The outdoor fireplace could have been a nice touch on a Sunday evening, but overall, the experience didn't match the photos or online advertisements. I spent a lot of money in Helen to entertain my child and wish we had stayed closer to Main Street. My idea of a lodge getaway for the girls turned out to be a mistake. While we didn't mind paying for breakfast, it felt like a basic offering that hotels usually provide, especially considering the property was an active construction site. Called front desk twice throughout no answer. We’re dealing with disappointed. -Mace

The lodge is just outside Helen, about a 10 min drive to downtown and is undergoing some reservations. Our room had a wonderful view of the mountains and the day room had tables, chairs and TV and fireplace. It was warm and cozy. There are fun drives on the twist roads around there and great scenery. Special shout outs to Wilson, Heather and Joshua for helping is while we were there. Can’t wait to return!

We recently visited for a few days. The Lodge staff were very respectful and accommodating. The rooms were clean and supplied everything we needed for a quality stay. We ate breakfast lunch and dinner at the Restaurant and Tavern. The food was excellent and the servers went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meal! Great work Unicoi!

We had 2 in our party and we paid for 2 nights at the squirrels nest. Needless to say, we only stayed one night. We can say we have tried it and that will be enough for us. The comfort station was not unlocked after me calling twice. We used a metal wagon to bring our stuff down the long hill to the bottom of the platforms but it had not been cleaned off as we had to move/push off a few downed trees. We enjoyed the walking trails and the zip lining though.

Unicoi is a gem! Great camp sites. Tons of activities available. The Anna Ruby Falls are well with the trip up. And Helen, GA is just a short drive for a unique Alpine experience.
I highly recommend this park!

I had found many reviews of these, many were poor, but I knew that the management changed in the past couple of years and these cabins had been recently renovated. I was intrigued by them, they looked really cool. We checked in, was early March before the season started. The guy said we had a choice of cabins- could be close to parking or have a lake view but it would be a bit of a walk. We picked the lake view. We were very happy with the cabin. It was clean, could see all the renovations they had completed- new kitchen floor, new dining table, some new furniture, tv worked fine, new curtains, new cover over the deck, new granite counters in bathroom and kitchen. The microwave was not new, vent smelled funky. The range is older and is the coil burner type. The toilet had a weird odor (maybe septic tank?). These issues were minor and did not detract much from our enjoyment of the accomodations. We travel often so know to bring our own nonstick frying pan- you def need that if cooking at all. The view was spectacular, beds comfy, good water pressure, decent amount of hot water, cabin temp was just fine (used a little heat in the evening). Add to that the location, we were so close to the water, good trail around the lake. We also parked at shelter 7 and did the lake trail to the beach (there was an eagle nest in the pine tree at the second cove). Also, the activities were great (boys did 3d archery and airgun), we all did the fly fishing class. And we got laundry (complimentary) done over at the visitor's center- felt comfortable leaving our clothes there while we grabbed lunch, returned to move clothes to dryer and again did not hang around during the dry cycle. Add to that the proximity to Helen- just 2mi away. And waterfalls and other park trails. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will definitely return.

We just stayed there during Christmas. We enjoyed it! The views of the creek and mountains were beautiful! There was construction in the lodge area, but it was okay; we had no issues with it since we spent our days out.
I did wish the shuttle service and amenities were available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so we could take advantage of them, but we couldn't, so we went into town. Breakfast was disappointing, that is the area they need to improve. Overall, it was a great place to stay, and I'm sure after the renovations, it's going to look even better. We will be back!
