Turtle Rocks Oceanfront Inn is unquestionably a spectacular location!
Sam’s tour of the beautiful inn and introduction of the area upon our arrival was inviting and welcoming.
We enjoyed thoughtful conversations with Roger while he prepared delicious breakfasts every morning. Francine’s baked goods and fresh flower displays added elegance and a tasteful sophistication. Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and perfectly comfortable with fantastic views and private balcony/deck! The common area was well-designed and engaging and again, the views! The accessibility to many exceptional options for hiking and exploring make this location particularly ideal. All the reasons we’ve shied away from a bed & breakfast were nullified with this exceptional experience!

A perfect stay along the coast! Perfectly positioned on a bluff overlooking the ocean, and just a short drive to all the Redwood parks. What can I say that hasn't already been said? The service, the breakfast, the cookies, the view - 5 stars for all!

The memories we'll take home with us are priceless, and the list is topped by our being serenaded by seals every night. A hundred or more seals wallowing on the turtle rocks below, and dozens more playing in the surrounding pools. And seemingly every one of them had something to say! We had room 3 which was perfect for us, but you can't go wrong with any of the rooms.

If you're considering booking a stay here, stop considering and start booking! You'll be glad you did 🦭😎

Older and quaint Bed and Breakfast run by an older couple. Hot breakfast made fresh daily.
Beautiful location. Spacious rooms. Private feel. Down towards the bottom of the Redwoods about 1 hour away from Cresent City.

Given a printout of good itinerary for 1-2 days which was very helpful to maximize our time. Also given private keys to the house and our room.

Whoever makes the cookies and snacks does a very good job. Good selection of snacks, teas, coffee, creamers and fruit available throughout the day.

The owner (Roger, I think) seemed a little temperamental, grumpy, moody and semi dismissive. It's hit and miss if anybody will answer the phone. Just figured a little more chipper and friendly atmosphere for the rate we paid and type of place we booked.

Overall pleased with our stay though aside from some semi unnecessary comments.

Really lovely place on the ocean. The view was stunning, as promised. The staff were lovely and accommodating. Sam helped us out even though we checked in a little late, the breakfast was tasty and made with obvious care.

I think the hotel itself could use a little updating. We had several ants in our room, and there were a few on the counter at breakfast. The room was a bit chilly, and it was hard to get the temp right. When I unfolded the blanket at the edge of the bed, it was a bit dirty. And personally, I think hardwood floors would be an improvement over utilitarian carpet for a quaint bed and breakfast.

Overall a very nice stay.

Amazing house. Very private rooms looking out on the ocean. Sea lions barking can be heard from your balcony. Home cooked breakfast served each morning. Kitchen area is never closed so you can grab a free bubbly water or soda anytime. Home baked scones and cookies in the afternoon individually wrapped. Lots of good advice for travelers wanting to see the redwoods and surrounding area as the owners have lived there 30 years. We arrived late our first day and there was a handwritten note for us describing the amenities available to us. I loved it and the only change I’d make is that our stay was longer.

Turtle Rocks was simply exceptional! We carefully chose this property as the last leg of our long road trip up the coast from San Fran to host us for the pinnacle of our journey: Redwood National Forest. The photos cannot do justice to the actual views we had from our room and its balcony/porch. Utterly stunning. Even in the rain! (Maybe especially in the rain, because you were experiencing the beauty of the place in comfort despite the rain!) This inn is exceptionally clean, welcoming, and comfortable. The beds and linens were wonderful. The room was huge for the three of us. Our suite had a large bathroom, great shower and water pressure, but the room also had a large side vanity room with a sink and mirrors and outlets to “get ready” while someone else was using the bathroom.| The common kitchen/dining room was stocked with snacks and drinks, games and books, and maps and local info galore. Our first hours there, we played scrabble, ate their delicious cookies, drank tea and soda, watched the surf, and looked at maps and displays about the area. You think you see all you need online but you don’t. When you go into a traveler’s trove like that common area/dining room, you get to really soak in true Redwood lore and data, curated over years of hospitality. We adjusted some hiking plans we had previously made from our online sources - with great success. |We were able to focus on our exploring of this important area and not supplies - we had a perfectly appointed and comfortable home base! Owner keeps a well-stocked fridge with bevs and offers delicious snacks. Breakfasts were delish, generous, and friendly - then we got onto the trails. Beautiful grounds, very friendly owner - we are busy professionals with kids who love travel and give this place 10/10

Beautiful, peaceful oasis! The views are stunning, the sounds of nature are awesome.
THE spot for a romantic getaway.
The owners were very kind and took care of all the hotel guests. Breakfast was served daily.

It’s a great location for visiting the Redwood Forest. About 30 minutes South of Tall Trees Grove, for example.

Our stay at Turtle Rocks was absolutely amazing and everything I had hoped for! From the ease of booking online to consistent communication until we arrived and even a very sweet personalized message after we checked out. The views were stunning, the food fantastic and the location was very convenient to dining, the majestic redwoods and even a hospital that we unfortunately had to utilize. I would highly recommend staying here and hope to come back some day!
