I recently stayed at Travel Lodge in Yuma, AZ because I needed to get some dental work done in Los Algodones. I had a One Key Rewards from Expedia/Hotels.com that I wanted to use for a complimentary stay at one of the hotels featured on their website, so I decided to take advantage of it. Travel Lodge, formerly the Baymont Inn & Suites, had it featured for $70.40, and since my rewards were worth $77.73, it pretty much covered the cost.||I checked the fees and policies of Travel Lodge and saw that there was a refundable deposit of $50 per accommodation, per stay. No big deal, I thought, as I was only staying for one night. Upon check-in, the woman at the counter asked for my credit card for the deposit. Fortunately, I get credit card alerts and saw a $50 pending charge right away.||Later that night, I woke up to a ping alert on my phone from my credit card, showing a charge of $16.08. I was baffled--Travel Lodge's website clearly stated a $50 deposit, so what was this $16.08 charge for? Did they order a pizza? I decided to deal with it the next day when I checked out and went back to sleep.||The next morning, I checked out and asked for a detailed receipt. The woman at the counter, who was in a bad mood, handed me the receipt. I noticed a charge of $66.08 on my credit card and asked why, since the refundable deposit was only $50. She became agitated and said it was the hotel charge for my stay. I explained that I had already paid for my stay using my rewards through the booking website. She claimed that Expedia charged me, not them. When I asked for a detailed receipt, she became angry and practically kicked me out of the premises--very unprofessional.||Confused, I contacted One Key, the website that handles Expedia/Hotels.com, and the representative I spoke to said that I shouldn't have been charged. He assured me that he had contacted the hotel and that the charge should be removed.||A few days later, I checked my credit card statement and noticed a charge of $66.08 from Baymont Inn & Suites which is now closed. Travel Lodge took over this hotel, and it seems like whoever is managing it is engaging in shady practices that need to be investigated. I have since contacted my credit card company to dispute this charge and requested an itemized bill. Let this be a warning to people staying here: Ask for an itemized bill and contact your credit card company immediately. This hotel has a restaurant next door, and I wouldn't be surprised if the staff are adding restaurant bills to customers' accounts for their own free meals. It's very shady!!!! I will not be letting this go, and will be writing to the better business bureau and consumer protection services. Let this be a warning to others considering a stay here: always ask for an itemized bill. The hotel has a restaurant next door, and I wouldn't be surprised if the staff are adding restaurant bills to customers' accounts for their own benefit. This is very concerning and needs immediate attention.||I've requested my credit card company and to do an investigation into this matter and a full refund for the unauthorized charges. I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge and have requested an itemized bill.

This place will mess with your debit card so bad be careful. 3 nights 355 plus 50 deposit then they will bill you every night which is stupid I think is to confuse the people then at 3rd night out of no where they bill be 170 which I went to the front desk and said come in the morning. Bottom line I was billed 5 times different amount so it wasn’t 355 total was more than 500 bucks. I called my bank and try to dispute it Be careful with this shady hotel

First off, we had no idea there was a deposit fee even with no pets. So that did suck and when I looked online, I couldn't find anything disclosing that beforehand. I wouldn't stay if id known or will i stay here again. Metal clanking from vents throughout the night, walls are very thin so you can hear everything and everyone, and overall just awkward layout. It was a safe room and decent bed but should be cheaper for how the hotel, it is not worth $160, which should include a lot better.

The young guy who checked me in told me my room would be $75 plus 3,000 points. My phone had a notification pop up right before he put a paper and pen in front of me that I paid $135. He said “oh I don’t know why they do that but it’ll probably take about a week to get that back” I told him I don’t have a week! I had a little bit of money and really need that money they took without telling me beforehand. Not cool!

Spent five nights here, first night Wednesday, we had wifi, after that it was gone. Not even detectable with our devices. Talked to front desk everyday and were told they were working on it. The staff was rude and angry to talk to. Poor man across the hall was trying to work from his room and he was pissed. The staff was not willing to help out finding any wifi we could use. We ended up going to the main building where the Travelodge office is and used the wifi there. The staff informed us that the wifi was out in the whole complex, which was a lie. We were able to book our boarding passes at the other building.
Will NEVER stay at Travelodge ever again!

PS The rooms and hallways smelled of vinegar and mold.
