Food was excellent except that there was sugar in the cornbread! I had ribs, greens, dressing and bread pudding. I tasted my brother's catfish, they are excellent too. Service was good. The restaurant is set up cafeteria style. Atmosphere is plain but clean. I would recommend Thelma's to anyone

My husband and I had the pleasure recently of enjoying this restaurant. We were warmly greeted by folks at the door and then put in the capable, caring hands of Crystal. She made sure to take plenty of time to explain to us how their buffet works and was ready to answer any questions we had. Y'all, I am 63 years old, have lived my whole life in the south and eaten a lot of chicken. Let me tell you, the baked lemon pepper chicken I had at Thelma's Kitchen was probably the best I have very eaten. My husband had ribs and fried chicken (yes, you can split your meat portion at no extra charge) that he thoroughly enjoyed. We had a variety of vegetables that were all seasoned to perfection. And Crystal didn't forget us once we were seated with our food, checking on us multiple times to see if we needed anything. We will be scheduling any future trips to or through this area to coincide with the open hours of Thelma's Kitchen!

Tasty Lunch at Thelma’s Kitchen

My wife and I decided to give this place a try on a Saturday just after noon. It was our first time to eat here and we didn’t know what to expect. Crystal greeted us with a friendly welcome just after we entered the door and asked us if it was our first time there. Upon finding out we were new customers, she took the time to give us a quick rundown of the process. The restaurant offered cafeteria-style menu and service. For lunch, there were five meats and a multitude of sides to choose from. The fixed price included a meat, two sides, a roll or cornbread, and beverage. The meat choice could be split between two meats, too. I had the catfish and ribs, along with collard greens and fried okra. My wife chose the fried chicken and catfish with okra and Mac-n-cheese. Both of us chose the corn bread. The okra tray was almost out, so we asked for some extra-crispy and the server was happy to oblige with some freshly prepared piping hot okra. The catfish, ribs, and chicken were excellent. The sides were tasty, too. The only thing that could have been a bit better would have been that the cornbread could have been warmed. Our server, Crystal, did a fantastic job of checking in on us frequently, and making our visit a pleasant one. This friendly spot, with a welcoming atmosphere and tasty home-cooking is definitely worth the visit.

My family and I stopped today to try Thelma’s Kitchen. We were greeted by Krystal and she made us feel right at home. She explained the way the cafeteria style works and told us every option on the buffet. My husband tried the ribs with homemade bbq sauce (TO DIE FOR!!! 🤤) and the fried catfish with homemade tartar sauce. My husband said it was the best tartar sauce he’s ever ate. The catfish was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. I tried the fried chicken and it was phenomenal! We all got different sides and they were delicious as well. Definitely going to be our new go to place! Definitely a must try 10/10!

This place was Amazing!!! The service was A+!! Krystale service was top notch!!! The food was 🔥🔥🔥👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏽🙏🏽. My family enjoyed the entire experience. I highly recommend that everyone come and check this place out. We were greeted by the owner and he blessed us with his wisdom. We will definitely be back.

We stopped in on a whim and boy were we pleasantly surprised. The ribs with their special sauce were absolutely incredible. Best I’ve ever had. I never lick my fingers, but I did today. My wife had the catfish and she was equally as pleased, although she did not lick her fingers. Lol. Crystal was an incredible waitress who gave great recommendations and took extra time to make sure we were pleased. She is a rockstar!

We had an early supper so the restaurant was pretty empty. The porkchops were extremely dry and tough, but everything else was pretty good. The sweet potatoes and collard greens were excellent as were the ribs. The chicken breast was a little small but delicious. Food was kept under warming lights, and I'm not sure how long it sat under those lights before we were served.
