Our stay at the Verandas Guest House over the 4th of July was just perfect. We enjoyed seeing fireworks on the porch with the owners who invited us to sit with them. The rooms were very clean and the overall hospitality was exceptional. They provide you with vouchers at Crazy Gals for an amazing breakfast. Upon on departure, we forgot a pair of shoes and were pleasantly surprised when they arrived in the mail from the owners. Thank you Jesse and Shelli for a wonderful experience. We will see you again the next time we need to slow down and enjoy the small town hospitality.

Absolutely wonderfully preserved Stagecoach Inn from the late 1850s. We stayed in the downstairs Crockett Suite where the old well for watering Stage horses is preserved and right outside your door. (How cool is that?) the suite had a beautiful old claw foot tub and the adjoining sitting room with TV was beautiful. The bedroom had a beautiful canopied four poster bed! So comfortable. The gardens were beautiful! Breakfast at the Crazy Gal's Cafe- which was awesome. We had dinner at Post Mountain BBQ in town. Fabulous! Make sure and visit the Historic Major Hudson Calvert home around the corner. Owners of the Inn also owned the Veranda. One of the owners was killed on the front porch there! Spooky and interesting history.

The owners were very nice and accommodating. We stayed in The Crockett Room. The house is close to the Square and the breakfast that’s included from the Country Gals (I think that’s the name) was delicious. Our room was filled with antiques and had a nice sitting room. Very charming, we’ll definitely come back again!!

The Davy Crockett space was so roomy and comfortable. We enjoyed trying a sleep number bed. Hosts are helpful with the area. First week of April 2016 - best wildflowers were found out toward Longhorn State Park, up towards Inks, out to Llano and down to Fredericksburg. Loved the breakfast locale - lots of locals and hearty breakfast. I did miss having a breakfast at the B&B but it must be a new trend not to do them as the B&B we used in Fredericksburg also provided a breakfast voucher. Internet service was good. I also enjoyed the soaking tub - others might wish for a shower, but the tub does have a sprayer attachment. I would return and stay in the same room.

We stayed at the Verandas Guest House for 4 nights...I loved this location. We stayed in the Houston Room which was perfect for our needs. The room is large and has a king-size bed which was super comfy. We sat on the veranda/porch every morning and had coffee and then we got in the car (the purpose of our trip)...and drove. We usually drove to Marble Falls first and got Starbucks (one of my guilty pleasures) and then we drove. The location of this B&B is really great for Hill Country sight-seeing. We drove our new Fiat 124 Spider to Burnet for the purpose of seeing the Hill Country in the fall with the top down. The breakfast that is included with the B&B was at Crazy Gals and we loved trying out different breakfasts every morning. I must say that the French Toast was my favorite. Shelli and Jesse were so awesome...we met them on the first day and they were readily available for anything we needed. The B&B has a common area where there is a full kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, etc. We kept some ice and beer in there for convenience. They must have had some water issues though because the smell of mold and mildew in the common area was stifling. NOTE: this smell was not in the room where we stayed. One other note of caution...hubby got in to take a shower and there was no bath mat. That shower /tub in the Houston room leans a little...this lends itself to a little imbalance and with no bath mat...hubby slipped and nearly fell. Since he has a brand new hip implant that would not have been good...so IF you stay in the Houston room be sure the bath mat is there before you shower. We notified Shelli by email that the incident occurred and she made sure we had the mat by next evening. Funny thing is, the information sheet left about the room declares that the bathtub can be an issue and that the bath mat is needed. So check your bath and if no bath mat, let Shelli and/or Jesse know. We usually don't require a turndown and keep our room to ourselves, so our hosts would make sure that every afternoon, there was a beautifully arranged basket of towels, fresh water bottles, new coffee cups, everything we could need...The hosts gave us a Calendar of Events and a list of "things to do"...we did a bunch of them. As I stated earlier, the location in Burnet is perfect for Hill country sight-seeing...Llano has some wonderful restaurants: Cooper's and Tommie's Pizza...we ate at the local Trailblazer Grill (walking distance and wine/beer)...and I loved the meat loaf there...we did the Vanishing River Cruise and drove out to the Hamilton Pool reserve...we saw Inks Lake, and the National Fish Hatchery and drove the Old Spicewood road...Lastly, two important items: the room rates were more than reasonable for the quality of the room and accommodations and our room was super clean. All in all, it was a wonderful relaxing vacation and our accommodations made everything perfect.

We were in town for a conference and stayed here for the first time. We'll be returning for the same conference next year and have already reserved our room here. Just an incredibly pleasant stay. The owners are so kind. They don't do the traditional breakfast at the home, however we felt the option they provide was even better because of the flexibility. You'll get vouchers to Crazy Gals Cafe which provides services from 6:30AM until 3PM. They are just around the corner from the home and provide service that matches that of the Veranda's owners. Looking forward to our return!

I contacted Shelli on the "day of" reservations and she was extremely accommodating. We were traveling on motorcycles and had been watching an ever changing weather forecast - so were making last minute decisions. The Verandas Guest House is one block off the square of historic downtown Burnet. Shelli said we could check in a bit early if we liked (and we took her up on it!). She and her husband were waiting and welcoming when we arrived. Both are educators and extremely outgoing and professional. You cannot find someone more charming, warm and full-of-grace than Shelli. She drives a hot-pink BMW convertible…does that tell you something about her personality? She loves life and people, and it shows. Shelli showed us our room and all the delightful features and nuances (yes, it is an OLD house--so there are a few "need to knows") Our room was the smallest of the suites -- but, it was HUGE. The verandas off both sides of the room were fabulous and outfitted with rocking chairs. We had complete control over A/C and heat in our room (Worked great) and the wi-fi worked well. They had a Keurig type coffee maker in the room as well as flat screen TV, ironing board/iron, and Hairdryer. We didn't watch TV - so don't know much on channel availability. They gave us the "code" to the common area and told us where the wine glasses, china, refrigerator, ice-maker, wine opener, etc. etc. were. And then they left us to ourselves. There were no other renters for the night -- so, we literally had this huge historic place to ourselves! Wow! Even if there were people there, you do have private access to any suite. We walked one block to the square for dinner at Texas Tea-Licious and had an excellent dinner, wine and listened to live music. Part of our room rate included an "order off the menu" breakfast at Crazy Gal's Cafe around the corner. This is the #1 rated restaurant in Burnet and you can order whatever you want. Again - wow! I wish Burnet could revive their downtown a bit more…such promise. But, there are several interesting shops on the square as well as a nice big antique mall across the road (Hwy 281) that were fun to browse. Overall 5* - over the top service, fantastic room, comfortable bed, and excellent location make this B&B one to consider. Great value at $135.60 including all taxes!

I stayed in the David Crockett suit while my sister and friend stayed the Sam Houston room. The owners were so nice and accommodating. The place is beautiful. We loved learning about the history of the home and walking around the town and nearby park. We plan to come back again.
