I have been going to Hilltop/Town Tavern for almost 40 years, I am from East Haddam and I currently live about a mile and a half from the facility. I have asked Johnnie repeatedly to add ice cream to their menu and he refuses to do so. This is the fifth time that I brought a quart of ice cream in and this time they wouldn’t accept it. All I wanted to have was an Ammoretta parfait. Hard working people just
like me spend a ton of money at both crossroads and town Tavern. It’s obvious that Johnny has forgotten the golden rule that if you listen to your clients, they will make a successful. It’s a shame that Johnny thinks That his clients exist because of him, which is a recipe for disaster. I hope after reading this post that maybe Johnny will reach out to me and changed his mind about offering ice cream to go along with the carrot cake that I’m eating now.

Great people great service great food. We had a large party celebrating a graduation. They were incredibly accommodating to all of us.
We ordered garlic Parmesan wings, a Caesar salad, and calamari to start. All tasted great. They arrived hot and very seasoned.
I ordered the ribeye steak with a baked potato. I also added some garlic butter on it and I am so glad I did because it made the steak taste amazing. The steak itself was cooked exactly how I wanted . The baked potato looked like it was overdone so I was a little skeptical at first but when I mashed it up it kind of melted all together.
All in all a great visit .

Our first time coming here. We sat at the bar and the service was great. Also, we loved all of the food, the soup and the main courses were delicious. Highly recommend people stopping here for dinner.

Newer place in town. I've been disappointed by a few places already. At first, I thought it was a little pricey and hesitant to try it out, but I finally pulled the trigger and was very impressed by the quantity and quality. I got the Philly steak and Buffalo chicken calzone, and they are well worth the price. The Philly is huge and packed with good quality steak. The calzone was delicious and packed with good breaded chicken and cheese. Definitely will be back to try more items.

Update! There quality is consistent the food is delicious every time I go!

I wanted to like this place. I took my kids and grandkids, and the food took over an hour to get to the table - with two little hungry kids. The waitress was very nice, but something was seriously wrong in the kitchen when you couldn't get a kid's pizza and two hamburgers to the table in an hour. The fries were not fully cooked and covered in grease. Won't be back there, unfortunately.

I threw my husband a surprise party at The Town Tavern last weekend with a great turnout. As someone who has never done this, having it at The Town Tavern was the best idea I could have come up with. All details can be found on their website and any additional details I was able to work out with Niki, the General Manager on the phone.

The food was amazing with the kitchen accommodating an all gluten free menu. The setup was perfect for the crowd. All other details like drink tickets, dessert plating and the decorations at the restaurant we're seamlessly arranged. It was a successful event and my husband was properly surprised.

It's a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and I was skeptical about the pizza! But WOW. It was delicious, thin crust with fresh ingredients and a beautiful, sweet red sauce. We are used to eating in Glastonbury and this food competes with those restaurants. The Greek salad was also very good! With fresh veggies and a VERY good house dressing. The wine list isn't bad either.
