This hotel has been recently renovated and redecorated and it shines: stunning lobby, beautifully layered colors and fabrics, tasteful and nuanced curation. It was pleasing to the eye in every way. We also adored the bartender at the hotel bar. Less pleasing are the pillows: hard foam pillows you would expect to find at a roadside Holiday Inn Express, not the premier boutique luxury hotel this is in every other way. We will definitely come back and stay again but will bring our own pillows. Otherwise loved it here. ❤️

Very nice place to stay. Overall an above average hotel right in the middle of the small town of Elberton. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The water pressure was a little low but no problem. There is breakfast with several hot options available. The staff were polite and friendly.

The Samuel Elbert is a surprise as one doesn’t expect such a nice hotel in a small southern town like Elberton, Georgia. However, finding ourselves in northeast Georgia on a late Sunday afternoon we decided to stay and the Samuel Elbert was a great choice. The historical building has been well updated. The front desk receptionist was friendly and helpful. Our corner room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The king bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately Sunday night in Elberton is “deadsville”. The hotel restaurant is not open Sunday night. There was literally only one local full-service restaurant open, a mediocre Mexican that was not memorable. The next morning the breakfast offerings at the hotel were limited, but to be fair there were only five rooms occupied Sunday night so it’s not surprising. Sunday evening is probably not a good barometer of the hotel or the town’s potential. It’s likely any other night’s stay would be more lively. However, overall the hotel is excellent and if you find yourself in Elberton, it’s unquestionably the best choice.

This is a quaint updated hotel in the downtown area. The room we stayed was a king which was very spacious with a comfortable bed. It had a sitting area and pullout couch (comfy as well). Being in a corner room it was very quiet even though we were on the street side. A few shops within walking distance. Staff was very responsive to requests and room was clean. A great cafe was the M&D down the one way street. The breakfast had limited items but did have a few hot items (biscuit, bacon, sausage, you would to check the milk as it tasted spoiled).

We stayed in this hotel for one night on 6/25/24. For a $200 room for 1 night, I certainly shouldn’t have to worry about bed bugs I have never been bitten so much in my life. These bites are very painful and itch worse than chicken pox. We got to our room around 11 and went straight to bed. I woke up at 2:00 am covered in bites. Turned the lights on to check the bed and killed 3 bed bugs that were just out on top of the pillows. This bed was infested. I had to call and move rooms it was so terrible. My arm and hand are swollen twice the size because I react to these bites. It is so painful. Then had to go get antibiotics from the doctor for secondary infection from scratching because they itch so badly, you can’t NOT scratch them. I was running a fever from the infection and sick and missed a day of work. So not only did we spend $200 for one night, I then had to pay medical bills and miss a whole days pay from work. I don’t even have the words. Please check your beds before you get into bed at this hotel. All of these photos are the progression of these bites over the course of two days. The first photo was taken in the truck the morning we left the hotel. They progressively got worse from there.
