I happened upon The Safe House Bed and Breakfast while looking on the internet for places to stay overnight for my husband and I during our trip to the Ohio State Reformatory for the Shawshank Redemption Tour. We couldn’t have been happier to have booked our night here. Jake was so accommodating and full of information. The home is outstanding and a sight to see, down to the last little detail. Our room, the Alexander was very comfortable and most importantly very clean. Jake even offered us a 4 hr window to pick from for him to make us breakfast and what a delicious breakfast it was. We had breakfast in the dining room with the couple that were staying in the other room and all enjoyed talking with each other and with Jake while he prepared our amazing breakfast. We don’t have one complaint or disappointment about our stay and are very happy to have stayed at The Safe House. We would definitely recommend if you’re in the area and looking for a place to stay.

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at the Safe House! I can't say enough about it! Jake was the perfect host...so personable and warm. The Safe House is a historical gem and the grounds are so peaceful and serene. We loved walking the wooded trails. I can't say I have ever had a more delicious breakfast - French Toast Croissant with fruit and the best maple syrup. Watching Jake prepare our food was fun since I myself love to cook! I think we will definitely pay another visit to the Safe House!

The Safe House is a historic house located in a rural setting, but still close to the downtown. I stayed here to break up two long days of driving so I really enjoyed having the wooded trails to explore on the property. Jake was a great host. The breakfast was delicious as was the local coffee. I appreciated the range of time offered to have breakfast, so that I could get back on the road early. The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed. I would definitely stay here again.

What a magnificent Bed & Breakfast! A gem of a place in Mansfield, Ohio! My daughter & I stayed 4 nights and had a wonderful time. So comfortable, it seemed like home! Jake was there to greet us as we arrived. Then he gave us a quick tour while telling us some of the fascinating history of the house. Breakfasts here, without exception, are the best! Enjoyed all the attention to details of the decor inside and beauty of the grounds outside. I ventured out one morning for a peaceful walk through the trails that wind around the property. Jake & Christina are the perfect hosts and we enjoyed talking with them & meeting their children. Our bedroom upstairs was simply beautiful with unique furniture, lovely-colored drapes & bedding, a super comfy bed with plushy pillows. Our stay here couldn't have been any better. We will visit The Safe House again! Did I mention the breakfasts here are amazing?

Amazing!! This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast and Jake the host/owner has set the bar ridiculously high. He was so polite and welcoming from the moment we pulled up. He made us feel right at home and that's exactly how it felt, homey. Comfortable beds and the sound of the frogs and nature in the woods with the windows open, puts you right to sleep. It was cute, clean and comfortable with a wonderful breakfast and gracious host. We highly recommend and will be staying there whenever we're in town!!

My mom, my sister and I stayed here one night while visiting the Ohio State Reformatory for ghost hunting. This was such a cool and unique place! Our host, Jake, was so great and accommodating when we showed up later than expected. We had everything we needed for our stay, and the rooms/bathrooms were clean and very comfortable. The breakfast he made in the morning was awesome! And overall it was a great experience. I'd stay here again!

Just had a great getaway at the Safehouse Bed And Breakfast. The place was amazing. The house is very tastefully decorated and feels very warm and comfortable. Very relaxed atmosphere. Jake was a great host. Our room was fantastic. Just beautiful and the bed was absolutely the most comfortable bed I have ever been in. The grounds were amazing. Sadly it rained most of our trip but was so nice. We will definitely be back. Thank you Jake and family.

We loved our stay at The Safe House! Jake is a wonderful host and we felt welcome as soon as we arrived. It was clean and smelled fantastic. The home itself is a work of art - beautiful with lots of history. We enjoyed one of the local beers from the fridge while sitting outside on the lovely grounds [and really enjoyed the special visit from the two cats 😊] Breakfast was delicious! We would definitely return to this unique b&b!
