We chose Riverbend Hotel and Cabins after reading glowing reviews on TripAdvisor and, of course, for their reasonable prices. Booking online was a breeze, and I was pleasantly surprised when someone from the hotel called me directly on my cell to confirm our reservation. They even asked for our estimated arrival time to make sure our room was ready. Now, that's what I call personal service!||They did check that we weren’t bringing any pets with us (seems that some guests have had issues with that, judging by a couple of reviews below). If you do happen to bring a furry friend, be prepared for an extra charge — because apparently, pets don’t travel for free.||Our room was located on the first floor near the river — a fantastic location with beautiful views. The hotel is elevated to prevent any flooding from the river, but don’t worry, they’ve got a ramp in addition to stairs for easy access. (On the second floor, though, you're stuck with just stairs, so pack your calves for a workout.)||The Room (The Good):||Spacious, clean, and comfortable.||We opted for the king-sized bed, which was great — comfortable enough for us, at least!||A microwave, fridge, and coffee maker were all available, so you’re set for the essentials.||40” TV (though, if you’re hoping for a premium channel lineup, you might want to reconsider. Expect mostly a 60s throwback channel lineup).||Hair dryer, iron, and ironing board — basically everything you need unless you plan on starting a clothing line during your stay.||The Not-So-Great:||The exterior deck is covered in worn-out indoor/outdoor carpet that looks like it’s been through more storms than a weather channel. It’s torn up and just kind of... sad.||The ramp to the first floor is lined with well-worn rubber traction mats, and honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re one bad step away from being a tripping hazard.||But beyond the exterior deck issues, Riverbend is a pretty good, safe, and convenient spot for a couple of nights. It’s close to everything you’ll want to explore, so once you park your car, you can easily wander around on foot. What more could you ask for in a short stay?

Booked the weekend here for our anniversary get away. Very nice room. Huge king bed must be an Alaskan king. Right on the river with a nice seating area to relax in. Right in town can walk to everything. Tv took some navigation to figure it out but wasn't that bad. Didn't get to the breakfast so not sure what they had. We would differently stay here again.

We have stayed here once before but recently stayed on the 26th of March for one night. The rooms are remodeled and the location is great! Only issues we had were the bed wasn’t the most comfortable in the world and the light right outside of our room in the hall was very bright at night and had the room all lit up even with the blinds closed all the way. Other than that, the stay was great! If you have kids, it’s a great place for them to play in the sand and in the river!

My wife and I stayed here because we love Helen, Ga. And this place is perfect friendly. The motel room was older but nice and has been recently updated. They have vinyl planking floors, (they need some fixing - gas in the planks). Still they were solid and in great condition. The bed and the bedding were comfortable and we slept well. I really think this was a nice place with friendly staff. I really liked the set up by the river with grills, swings, and a little fire pit. Plus you are right in the heart of Helen.it would have been rated a 5, if the $30 per night pet fee was disclosed prior to booking. To be fair, booking.com and the motel’s website state there is a fee, but we did not expect an additional $120 added to our stay for a pet fee. This was a Christmas time stay including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Helen does get very busy, but at least you won’t have to look for parking. I am hoping we stay here again this summer. Hopefully it will be equally nice.

First of all I would like to say the location is great to downtown and it’s nice being on the river!! The staff was super friendly and helpful
But the cabins are definitely outdated the light in the bedroom had to stay on for the ceiling fan to work that’s definitely crazy who wants to sleep with a light on for the ceiling fan to work! The jet tub was nasty had a black ring in it! If updated things would be alot nicer!

The Location is GREAT in the town of Helen, Ga. The house keeping is horrible and you can’t get service unless you ask for it daily. We were there 3 days, and the trash was overflowing in both trash cans. We had to ask for towels and washcloths daily. I think that when you pay for a room every night you should have service daily. We won’t be staying again, nor will I recommend RiverBend to anyone. ☹️☹️☹️

This place is to have an excellent vacation , if you like tranquility and nature , Lorena took care of our very friendly recreation and suggested delicious places to eat 😋. Then when we returned we attended Yesica super friendly to our questions, the staff very nice and attentive. the rooms clean, the rooms excellent. I recommend it . It is very good and not expensive.

Really loved the loft room and fireplace. It was quite and felt safe. Staff was very friendly and had my reservation ready when I hit the door. Clean and had all you needed to cook and drink.
