This was my first stay in a hostel and I honestly don't think it could have been a better experience. The house was beautiful, the staff was friendly, the beds were comfortable, and everything was immaculately clean. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook and there are plenty of books and games around to keep you occupied. Overall, the Notch Hostel has a warm-hearted community vibe that I really enjoyed. Will definitely be coming back!

I loved my stay here! It was cozy and quiet (January) with easy access to Franconia Notch State Park & White Mountains National Forest. The staff were friendly, cheerful, & happy to answer questions (or just have a chat) and the other folks staying at the hostel were equally friendly!

Thoughtful and kind staff! We had a really cozy nice stay! It was great getting to know everyone and hearing stories at the end of each hiking day. We can’t wait to come back again.

I personally like this place it's in very close proximity for highway and mountains.there is McDonald's and other restaurants near by too. Stayed for one night. The people at front desk are nice and welcoming. I will recommend this place if you are okay to stay in a shared room. This is a special place for hikers of appalachian trail.

Had a lovely stay at the Notch! Had everything I needed for a quick stay after hiking some 4000 footers. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. While there weren't many people around during my visit, I can easily see how this place is popular and caters to the outdoorsy community. Will stay again!

I chose this hostel because of its location, but I will go back because I had an absolutely wonderful experience!

Each person who worked there seemed like they really cared about what they were doing and went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable.

The house itself was very lovely and set up with everything you could want from a plenty of bathrooms, to a full kitchen and a lovely living room/hang out area!

It was super close to a ridiculous number of great hikes which was perfect for me!

I honestly can't wait to plan another trip to the White Mountains to stay here again.

Edit:
I came back four months later and had another incredible experience! Such great employees who are helpful and socially engaging! The owner clearly has a passion for this line of work and it shows!

I will be back again for a 3rd and 4th time….and so on!

I really enjoyed staying at Notch. I stayed in Bear Cabin which was perfect for just me. The staff was friendly, the place was clean, well-lit and spacious and the outdoor space was beautiful! There is a nice communal kitchen, dining room and living room with games, books and comfy chairs and another small kitchenette on the first floor. The porch is also lovely and there are plenty of bathrooms and showers for everyone. I'm a single woman approaching 50 and aI travel alone, so I like simple, private accommodations with communal space and this place had it all. Also very close to Downtown Woodstock and Lincoln with lots of great shops and places to eat. I highly recommend the Woodstock Inn Brewery if you don't feel like bringing your own food to cook. The staff and patrons are friendly, and the food and beer are great!

My partner and I had a very good experience at this hostel. It's clean, well equipped, cozy and inviting. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the staff is really nice. Everything is clearly labelled to help you get around the hostel. The shampoo and conditioner were also of very good quality, which was a nice surprise. The only thing I would improve would be the quality of the mattresses, which could be a bit more comfortable, but they weren't too bad either. Maybe the owner could slowly replace them with memory foam mattresses when the time comes. This will definitely be my go-to place when I hike in the Whites.
