The Mount Vernon Grand Hotel - Mt Vernon, Ohio

I stayed at the Grand for 3 nights in a King Suite. The beds & linens are super comfy. The room and bathroom were very clean. Loved the fluffy white robe & slippers. Aveda products are a nice & appreciated touch. This is a beautiful historic hotel that is not to be missed if you’re in the area. The staff are friendly & wonderful (shout out to Autumn!) I look forward to breakfast on the wraparound porch the next time I’m in town!

My wife and I were taking a leisurely drive across Ohio and looking for a small town and quiet location to spend a little time. Upon a search, the Grand Hotel in Mt. Vernon popped up. This hotel was completely rebuilt from what was the original Curtis Inn that was built in the late 1800s and burned down in the 1940s. We love staying in older, historic hotels but the surprise with the Grand Hotel is it's really neither. The hotel looks and feels old, but it has modern plumbing, elevators, insulation, and windows. The temperature dropped to the single digits on our stay, but the room was toasty warm. The 24-hour coffee and tea service is a nice touch, as is the afternoon/ evening hot chocolate bar. The breakfast is great as they rotate several hot items daily, and always have the yogurt, cereal, breads, etc.

Autumn was working when we stayed, and she was delightful to talk with. She gave us great information on the hotel and surrounding areas, as well as a couple of suggestions for dinner. Bill was working maintenance in the evening and took time out of his schedule to talk with us about the hotel history, restaurants, and other related topics. I traveled for many years on business, and it's rare to find a property that you feel comfortable and at home in.

We felt appreciated as guests, and it's the personal touch that will bring us back for future stays.

Our first time, I requested the best view. We had a corner room on the fourth floor. It was wonderful! The hotel is beautiful! The room was beautiful and very clean! The bed and pillows very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Great coffee! And the staff freindly and personable!

We had a bunch of family and friends stay at this hotel for our daughters' wedding weekend and everyone was treated so nicely. The rooms were clean and comfortable and several staff went out of their way to be helpful. Highly recommend!!

Great place to stay with clean, well-appointed rooms and a super-friendly staff. Beds & pillows were great. King room was well-sized, as was the bathroom. Tall folks beware, the rainfall shower head is low; it was fine for my 5'4" height, but anyone over 5'10" might have to duck to get their head wet. :]

This hotel is wonderful! From the friendly staff to the lavish rooms it was a great stay. Truly grand.||I spent one night at the hotel on a bike trip in Ohio. I appreciated that the staff allowed me to bring my bike to my room. The room was small but very comfortable with lots of amenities -- including a sleep mask! The bedding was fluffy and the bed sooo comfortable. The room was quiet.||The area around the hotel was very nice -- I appreciated both the dog fountain (check it out!) and as a Virginian, the Mount Vernon-inspired architecture.||Breakfast options were excellent.||I would highly recommend this hotel for bike tourists and anyone else visiting Mount Vernon.

So I have just completed my 3 week stay here and I was in different rooms for that. First off the water here is strange, it leaves u with a slimy feeling, but was told on week one it's was just softener. The cups I have had in my room have not been fully cleaned and have something stuck to the bottom of the inside of the cup that's nasty. Everytime now that I have gone home for the weekend I have broke out in hives. The staff if vary friendly but also accidentally canceled my whole last week reservation. The breakfast is just like any other hotel. Not impressed
