Karen is an excellent hostess. Her home is pristine, the location is second to none- it was literally like staying in a house right out of a fairy tale. Her cooking is simply amazing. We are talking full course breakfast here. This was an amazing trip and I highly recommend The McClaine House!

This is a wonderful place to stay! Karen has thought of every detail to make guests feel at home. Our room was large and airy and our bed was very comfortable. We look forward to returning to enjoy the hospitality and also the delicious breakfasts. We recommend it highly.

We stayed upstairs - the room was spacious, bright, and clean. Karen thought of everything! The food was excellent and Karen was very accommodating regarding food allergies.

The house is very well-located in Silverton, making it so easy to explore downtown. Highly recommended!

Our stay at the McClaine House was a perfect B&B experience. The house was restored so beautifully and is filled with so many thoughtful details, I felt like I'd just stepped into the pages of a Victorian novel.

Karen is a lovely, friendly host and an amazing cook. There were treats waiting when we arrived, and coffee right in our room. Breakfast was over-the-top delicious, starting with home-made yogurt and granola, followed by an omelette with white beans that felt both healthy and indulgent.

Silver Falls State Park is just outside of Silverton and only a short drive from the McClaine House. We had planned a hike at the Trail of Ten Falls that day, so Karen sent some apple streusel muffins with us, which made a great snack at the end of our hike.

We stayed in the Falls Suite, which was huge -- by far the biggest room we had ever stayed in in a B&B. The room is a beautiful, peaceful blue, with a very comfortable bed, a walk-in closet with a fridge and coffee maker and plenty of shelf room for your things. There's an extra room between the bedroom and the bathroom with a daybed that was nice for sitting quietly and reading in the evening. And the bathroom was spacious and luxurious.

This was a wonderful place to stay for a night and we would have been happy to stay longer.

Karen was a wonderful hostess! The home is a historic property and has been restored to its original glory with many modern touches making it feel very inviting and comfortable. Everywhere you look there are beautiful details both new and old. The bed and breakfast is one block from all of the shops and restaurants in Silverton which, is adorable, and was convenient for exploring the town.

Excellent is an understatement. This B&B is outstanding in every way; the rooms, the decor, the hospitality and the food. Silverton is a great destination and the McClaine House makes it a reason to stay over. Karen is a wonderful house and an amazing cook. I can't recommend it enough.

The house is lovely, and Karen is an excellent host. We stayed in the first floor room, and really enjoyed our private patio (may have taken a small nap on the lounge chair). This house has the perfect location for walking to downtown Silverton.

A lovely place. I told Karen that she has a most photogenic house...inside and out! Her service is impeccable, cooking tasty and the location so convenient. We have a very nice two day stay and will definitely come back...especially if we decide to attend the Mt. Angel Oktoberfest which is held near by each September.
