The "Hot sides" were cold like the cold sides. Rice was undercooked. Proteins were dried up, last I worked in restaurants if it's on the stainless steel container on the bar after I wanna say 45mins to an hour they gotta be thrown out and put fresh on. Not the case here I should have just canceled my order and left and never returned lol but I didn't wanna be a Crazy Karen without giving this place a chance. Burrito underwhelming and chewy dried up bland meat. Pretty much a jerky meat burrito. I didn't finish it and can't even give it to a dog or cat because I put guac on it. I'm not a restaurant expert, but the owner needs to either retrain their staff to be more customer oriented and stock up the bar and throw out stuff that's been out too long or get rid of current staff and start over. If I end up with food poisoning or something I'll update this review. If you value your hard earned money go somewhere else like further into town lol.

If you are an Alabama local, this will not be far off from your cuisine selection. If you are used to Chipotle, Burrito Parilla, or Authentic mexican food, you will be thoroughly disappointed. Al pastor is not off the spit and hot grilled. There is zero authentic al pastor flavoring. The meat portions are tiny. The beans were cold. Most places that offer queso are complimentary with your Burrito. Here, it's 1.50 extra. So for 12.75, you get a cold burrito that makes you wish you ordered two. There are plenty of authentic mexican restaurants a little further up on gault that are much more enjoyable, larger portions for less. I wish I had saved the football sized Burrito pics where I'm from that are 8.99. This is next to a 16oz soda.

It's one of my new favorite places to pick up dinner from. We usually order bowls, and steak is my favorite, but my kids love the chicken.

My only complaint is the guacamole. Sometimes, it's delicious. Other times, it's pretty bad. Maybe who's making it. I don't know.

First time in here. No customers were in their dining in at 6:30 p.m. I was really surprised I ordered the chicken bowl and it was really really good I couldn't even eat it all!!! I will definitely go back!

First off, I DO want to say that the kitchen looked decently clean and the amount and quality of the food were good for the price. That being said, the impression I got was that the manager needed to run a tighter ship or the place would lean the other way and go under: nothing had layers of filth, but everything looked like it should have been cleaned the night before but wasn't; there were dried spills and bits of food under all the tables and chairs, smudges on the windows, the high chairs weren't really clean, and there was a pretty thick layer of dust on the napkin holders. The overall impression was that they'd spent the last few days cutting corners, but hopefully it doesn't stay like that because it's much nicer to support a local business than the chain fast food places.

I ordered a quesadilla for a child and then had my order of a burrito. The meat I ate was as edible as rubber, in texture and taste. My total was $18 and some change, my toddler would not eat the quesadilla, in fact, she closed the lid. They under cook their white rice so you have a nice crunchy texture and squeeze about 15 limes into it. so you get a sour crunch texture inside of your burrito. Basically I wasted my money so that you shouldn't.

Absolutely love this place! I’m so grateful to have a locally owned relatively healthy place to eat in town. It’s been a struggle because sometimes I just don’t want to cook but the idea of eating greasy or fried food makes my stomach turn - so having this as an option is so great! Plus I’ve spent a lot of time in the western states where the standard is a dry wrapped burrito and I’ve had a heck of a time trying to order burritos like that in this town. I know this is because the mexican culture here is more indicative of eastern Mexico rather than western and therefore they do things differently. I wouldn’t call burritos like this and chipotle actually Mexican food because neither have ever really reflected Mexican style burritos but the food is still delicious! Good quality food, decent portions, friendly staff! The people who own this also own Jefferson’s on the other side of town. This place kind of mimics chipotle, but with way more options available to you. My only critic is that the white rice has a little too much lemon in it but my husband disagrees with me, he loves it. I came back to this place with him like four times in one week we were so excited about it being here. I will say that the prices are insanely high if you want extra. Normally if you ask for extra meat it’s like $2 extra but here they want you to pay $6, and the price of the burrito is already kind of high for what they are serving. They charge for queso and guac.
