The rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable! Amenities were lovely. We ate breakfast buffet every morning and all but 1 was good, (food seemed like it had been sitting awhile on first day). Lunch we had tacos and chicken tenders at the lounge, bartender was friendly and food was really good! Happy hour appetizer were wonderful that evening! Beach side bar was super convenient! The heated pool was closed for maintenance first 2 days of our 4 day stay, the grotto pool was closed the last 3. The grotto being closed ment the walkway was closed so you had to walk around, would be nice if there was a way to not cut off walkway. Biggest complaint was that the walls to the rooms are really thin, our neighbor had a horrific cough that went on all night, all three nights... we were 3 rooms from the ice machine and could hear it all night when people would get ice in there metal ice buckets.|All in all the view from the balcony was breathtaking, beach acces was great, food was delicious and we would stay again!

Regarding the room
I’ll give it a solid 2 stars. Our family had one of the rooms that opened up to the main pool where the grotto bar was. Overall it looked great but the pool was so cold it made my daughter’s feet turn blue and the sun doesn’t hit the pool deck so the area is always bitter cold.

Regarding service
Looking at policy: there is a $500 charge for smoking on the property which means you are not getting hit with clouds of smoke. Although, our neighbors to both our left and right both smoked and we never heard nor seen the policy enforced. Our room shower was really crappy and not really able to use as it was dirty with a dirty towel left in it when we first got into our room. One thing I did enjoy is that they have activities for all ages all day everyday which makes it easy to stay at the resort and not have to go out spending money looking for entertainment.

Regarding location
The place is set in a really nice place. The beach was beautiful minus the whole “no private set ups” in certain areas because of the resort chairs and umbrellas, really does take away from the family friendly beach experience when you’re trying to find a spot close to the hotel on the beach. We had to walk to the pier just to find a spot on the beach with our small children. On a positive note, the oasis is absolutely beautiful and the wildlife that lives within is awesome for youngsters.

Overall
I’d definitely recommend this place to others minus the few issues we noticed, we get it things happen and places are not perfect but for the money we spent we’d like to see less issues and more positives.

The rooms were cleaned each day and the staff were very friendly. Jackie at the front desk was amazing. She checked us in and gave us a drink voucher and other goodies for our anniversary. She was very pleasant. The beach was beautiful as well. The only reason it’s 4 instead of 5 is because we were told the heated pool was down but would be fixed the next day. Which was true but then they shut down the main pool the next day for the rest of the entire week we were there so that was a bit disappointing. But we still had the hot tub and beaches to enjoy our stay.

The staff at this resort was incredibly accommodating and friendly. The housekeeping team was so kind and worked quickly and efficently

The food and drinks at the bar by the pool were priced well and delicious. Great burger, pizza, and wings!

The grounds were unique and beautiful.

Easy access to the beach.

This is a great place for a family vacation. With all of the options on the resort, you don't have to leave.

I loved my stay here! It was one of the best weeks I’ve had in a long time. The pools were beautiful and the drinks were amazing. I loved that it’s right on the beach and can just go walk along the Gulf and is in walking distance to a lot of places along the beach. Rooms were very clean and food was amazing. The bartenders were hilarious and very fun to talk to as well. Definitely want to come back again. I also traveled solo which I felt very safe staying here and doing my own thing.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Island Resort. Jackie at the front desk was wonderful. She was having computer issues with a long line of people checking in and was so kind, patient, and still smiling as she helped each person. She made our first impression a memorable one to start our trip. The staff, rooms, food, drinks, location, and views were great. We'll definitely be back again.

I placed the reservation month in advance, and they had the wrong date this date the day before was wrong also. Was also told my previous payment will be refunded. Makes me wonder. I was told I had a beach view room. So I could enjoy after not being here since 1985, while my son go to a conference. This is so disappointing. For me at this age and willing to pay this takes the cake. I do not recommend this unless you do not expect much: I did.

The lobby was great, but we were under impressed with the motel style doors in three of the four buildings. Our room had a balcony overlooking the beautiful grounds and pool - that was the saving grace for the room. It was just okay, but clean, and the bed was comfortable. Walking the grounds, the grotto falls, the beach bar, and the covered beach deck was really really nice. Plenty of lounge chairs, many in the shade. The resort restaurants were very good and reasonably priced.
