Donna literally saved my life and I bet she doesn't even know it. They go out of their way for you. Fantastic experience. Great atmosphere. Comfy beds, all with privacy curtains. And there are many free (!!!) options to get you into town for resupply or a hot meal. Made for hikers. Book ahead, this place is popular.

I had a fantastic stay here during my thru-hike last year. They have ways to shuttle hikers for a day or two of slack packing so that we can enjoy the relaxation of the hostel longer. I stayed 2 days. Breakfast and dinners were wonderful. Thanks! P-Rex

Bill and Donna are amazing hosts! I don’t know how they herd so many hikers but they do it well. Nimrod is a wealth of knowledge for hikers and I appreciated his help during my stay. 100/10, I hope to come through for a visit some time.

Spent a night at the Green Dragon after section hiking. WOW! Top notch bunk house. Bathrooms upgraded, bunks had a luxurious feel. Hosts were above gracious and hospitable. Definitely coming back for my next hike.

My wife and I spent the night at Green Dragon in Oct. just prior to a one week section hike. It was our second time there. We absolutely love it!! Bill and Donna are great, the hostel is very clean and comfortable and has everything a hiker needs. We could not ask for anything more. Can't wait to visit again!!

The hostel was a treat after 5 days into our AT hike. Bill and Donna were welcoming to our WILD group of 9 ladies. They shuttle us from Unicoi Gap back to the hostel. Gave us a tour of rooms and amenities. We showered, got laundry service, we were able to clean and organize our gear, got shuttle service to town and had a great and warm breakfast before we set out to continue our trek on the AT.
They had everything we needed to recuperate for the evening. Thank you Bill, Donna, Grace and Nimrod everything!

Pick up and drop-off at multiple trail heads. Shuttle to town for resupply. Shuttle to town for lunch and dinner. Shuttle to outfitters. Provided breakfast. Laundry. Shower. Beautiful bunk house. Donna and Bill bend over backwards to accommodate every need. Great conversations and so much laughter. FEELS LIKE HOME!!!

I left my car with Donna and Bill, got ride to Amicalola State Park and hiked back to the Green Dragon. Bill picked me up on time from Dick's Creek Gap, and I stayed at the hostel for a night. I've stayed at several good hostels on the AT but this one is the best. The attention to hiker's needs have been addressed. I could not think of a single thing I would suggest to make it better. I think they've literally done everything right. I was trying to think of what I could compare it to and the only thing I could think of is like watching a classic movie (Shawshank, Forest Gump, Whiplash) for the first time. Don't miss it.
