My stay at The Gables was wonderful and I highly recommend it to anyone planning to stay in Sausalito. The location can't be beat - steps away from downtown and convenient to any sites you want to drive to from San Francisco to Napa. I stayed in Apt.2 which was nicely appointed, comfortable and very quiet. And there's on-site parking which was perfect since you can walk most anywhere in the town. Zachariah was a terrific host.

After having left San Francisco we stayed just one night in Gables Inn. Everythign in the house is very chic with an old style furniture, which is charming and warm. The bedroom was very spacious with an external area just on the street. Parking available and in a central position in town. Walking distance to all major spots in Sausalito.

What a great place! This hotel is fantastic, a little funky, but really cool. Very Sausalito. Our room -- #206 -- was great, with a separate bedroom, full kitchen, and a spectacular view of the Bay and the San Francisco skyline -- very nicely updated. Easy walk to restaurants and shopping. We will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for two (2) nights. The hotel location is just perfect and is walking distance to most everything in Sausalito. The hotel is a super cute antique beach house turned into a boutique hotel - perfect for a quiet beach town stay. The room itself (we booked the most basic room) was quite small but clean, and cozy. The bed was very comfortable for sleeping, but not so much for other things as a result of the noisy bedframe and close proximity of other guest rooms... The bathroom had a bathtub with jets - this was lovely! The parking situation ($30 per night) is a bit annoying but this is not a reflection of the hotel as parking is a bit of an annoyance in general in Sausalito as a whole. The hotel has a main lot in front with about 6 parking spaces, and once full guests are directed to the back lot (also right next to the hotel). Once those lots are full, they will direct you to sister lots (also within walking distance but further away). So overall, there is lots of parking either way and parking is the same price - it is merely a matter of convivence.
Staff was super friendly and helpful.
We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for two nights during our last road trip. Despite being a very small, basic room, it suited our needs. We didn't want to chance driving into San Francisco, so we paid an extra $25.00 per night to leave our car in the Gables parking lot and take the ferry over. The Gables is centrally located, and only two blocks from the ferry dock. We caught the hop on/hop off bus in SFO and were able to easily see the city before catching the ferry back. We were in cottage #208, which had a nice balcony with a peekaboo view of the bay and distant city. The view was the main selling point as the room lacked a heater, the windows wouldn't open, and there was no fridge. The staff were accommodating and nice. The room was clean. Sausalito is a cute little town, worth visiting and a great place to stay instead of San Francisco. We enjoyed our visit.

During our recent stay at The Bay Room (May, 2024), Zachariah, truly went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. He provided a baby crib for our newborn and made sure my family had everything we needed. He even took the time to personally give us a tour of the establishment and provided a map of recommended local locations to visit. ||The Bay Room was perfect, offering amazing views of Alcatraz, the Bay Bridge, and downtown San Francisco. This room is ideal for families with children or for a romantic night with your partner. The fireplace with an eco-friendly log adds a cozy touch. ||Zachariah’s exceptional service made our stay unforgettable. The establishment's commitment to guest comfort and satisfaction is evident. Highly recommended! 10/10!

Charming, well-located inn with a lot of character. We stayed in an apartment and it was plenty of space for our family of four, with the bay views a lovely bonus. In retrospect I would have accepted their offer to make up the sofa bed because the daybed in the second bedroom was a tight squeeze for two kids to share.
