I had a great experience at The European Hostel! The staff was outstanding—especially Nick at the front desk. He was incredibly friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to assist me, including arranging an early check-in before the standard 3 PM. The team was also understanding and flexible with the key security deposit, which I truly appreciated.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. I stayed in a shared room, and it turned out to be a great experience! My roommates were cool, friendly, and it was nice getting to know people from different backgrounds—definitely adds to the hostel vibe.

The cleaning staff does a fantastic job keeping everything fresh and tidy, and having an in-house ATM is a major plus for convenience.

Overall, a welcoming atmosphere, helpful staff, and a great place to meet new people. Highly recommended!

This hostel is a bit better than a shelter for drug addictors. There are so dirty in a hallway and kitchen, no soap or toilet paper in a restroom. There only 2 of 4 floors are working and it makes this place crowded. No luggage storage - all personal bags are located in the kitchen where scketchy people attends.
Make sure that if you decided to buy food, eat it the same day because it can be disappered from fridge at night. There are flies, mosquitos, ants and roaches.
Be very careful when you leave your personal documents unattended in the room - they can be stolen or pictured and your data will be used without your permission.
Lockers are very flimsy and can be vandalized some day. Wi-Fi is unstable.
There are absolutely inadequate stuff: a front desk is mostly yelling than talking and a Latin family, who provided housekeeping in this hotel, will be watching you 24/7.
Do not recommend this "hole in the wall"!

Honestly wasn't as bad as I heard/expected. Props this place for making it so cheap. However there is an under 30 policy for dorms that isn't articulated until after the dorm is booked. The owner then picks and chooses who over 30 he wants to let stay, most of the roommates were clearly over 30. So yes I think there is a scam attached to this place.

Nick the manager has a horrible attitude and shouldn't be in the travel and hospitality industry. Steer clear of this bottom of the barrel, on a homeless encampment street/alley. I checked out about an hour late, 11:00am. They post a sign stating check out is 10:00am. My transportation was late, he kept my $20 room key deposit. Trust me, you'll Glad you read this review.

This place is a scam. They have a policy that if you don't show up in time you forfeit the money for your ENTIRE STAY, not just the first night. I've never seen anything like it. When I showed up on time, the guy refused to hand back my ID until after he very smugly informed me they have an under 30yo only policy, which i don't see anywhere on the website i booked from, it's pretty well hidden. They won't refund my money. I disputed the charge with my credit card company, they just charged me again. Don't bother booking, they're just gonna find a way to take your money without letting you stay.

We booked with this hostel because it was the cheapest but looking back at it we wished we would’ve gone somewhere nicer and spent 20 more dollars a night. The location was terrible, we had to dodge vomit and diarrhea to get to the hostel. The rooms were incredibly small with only 3 beds and a small trash bin. One shared bathroom for 10 rooms. It would’ve been an ok experience if the management wasn’t so rude. After checkout one of us had to use the restroom and the manager scolded us saying we should respect the house rules just because we were using the toilet 5 minutes after checkout. Spend a little more money and go somewhere else trust me.

HE ABUSED, Also stated he has good political connections!! They have a strange policy that only checkout is at 10am not before that. I had a flight at 4am and he denied the stay I was helpless with baggage and when I questioned he stated abusing. Absolutely a red alert.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hostel. The rooms were extremely small with no space to store anything, making it very inconvenient for travelers. The cleanliness was a major issue – the bathroom was not clean and had an unpleasant smell throughout my stay.

What made things worse was the poor customer service. The front desk staff was rude and unhelpful. I was shocked when they refused to let me use the restroom just one minute after check-out. This level of unprofessionalism and lack of basic courtesy is unacceptable. I would not recommend staying here. Except you love the dirt.
