My husband and I visited The Cotton Patch Inn in January of this year ('08) and it was great! We stayed there to be close to Vidalia, and the drive was quite easy there and back. ||The house is gorgeous and family run; the normal caretaker was our of town at the time and we were taken care of by her sister or sister-in-law, who was very accommodating. We were the only guests that night which meant we got the entire house to ourselves, which was great! We stayed in the first bedroom on the left as soon as you go in the front door and it was very pretty.||The surrounding grounds are nice and are probably really nice in the Spring/Summer/Fall. Our host mentioned a field of sunflowers just down the road, planted by a family member (I think.)||Breakfast was good and very Southern. We will definitely stay here again!

This was our second visit to this rural Southern B&B within a year. We brought friends to the inn for 3 nights and to attend the Vidalia Onion Festival. Both couples had a king room on the first floor. Each night Miss Martha served an evening snack and wine. After we returned from dinner, a different dessert was waiting for us each night. The pecan pie is wonderful!!! Our rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet despite the fact the Inn was completely full (5 rooms) and one room had 3 children under 10. The 3 full breakfasts were delicious and always provided portion sizes that were more than we could eat.

My wife accepted a three-month contract to work in the nearby town and we opted for a B&B rather than an apartment lease. We wanted to 'get out of town' and experience the peace and quiet of a rural community. The Cotton Patch Inn complied with all these requirements. Situated about 15 minutes out of town, the classic 1920's home is located in surrounding farm land. Rooms are large and airy with on-suite bathrooms. All the guests were staying long term, almost becoming a family. The owner is is wonderful, lives off-site, and serves a great breakfast every morning. We can walk about freely and enjoy the neighboring family farm as well. Great place to get away from it all!

I found this B&B listed under Inns and Cabins on Three Rivers Outside when I was looking into Kayaking on the Altamaha River. Its a beautiful house furnished with antiques, if not for the large flat screen in the living room, it was kind of like going back in time. So much of the ambiance and little touches brought back memories of visiting my grandmother's house in Florida as a child - my grandmother had same wooden finch house on the stairs, also kept that same brand of Nonni's Biscotti out in the kitchen, and also had a loquat tree on the side of the house. The 3 acre property is about 15 miles from the Hatch Nuclear Facility if you are in town for work. Its also very close to the Moody Forest for hiking and the Altamaha river for boating. I am so glad were able to experience this charming farmhouse with so much history.

We had a very nice stay at the Inn. The interior decoration was nice. The breakfast was great. The room was very clean and quiet. The owner was very friendly, very pleasant, and we had very interesting conversations together. The only minor drawback was that, being in one of the rooms facing the road and being in a very quiet area, at night, we could start hearing vehicles coming down the road from half a mile away.

I had the pleasure of staying at this bed and breakfast inn recently. It was very quiet and secluded, and it truly located across the road from a cotton field! It has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. The upstairs bedroom I stayed in was very cozy and comfortable and had two beds in it. The only complaint I had about this bedroom is that the shower in the bathroom was not very good...water only came out of one side of the shower nozzle. I chose to take the rest of my showers in a downstairs bathroom. The kitchen area is large and was well-stocked with delicious breakfast food. The television set is outdated and a flat-screen TV would have been better, but most people probably do not stay here to watch TV! Also, there is not a driveway and it had rained, so we had to sweep a lot to clean up the dirt brought inside. All in all, it was a fabulous place to stay, beautiful furnishings, and a nice, quiet time spent with family and friends.

Lovely house, food and hospitality (wine upon arrival on porch). Great rooms and comfy beds for a quiet night sleep. Off the beaten track worth the drive from Vidalia to experience rural stay. One recommendation - enable overseas visitors to book via email or online!

A little remote but very quiet and well kept home... I stayed there long term for work and really felt at home and comfortable. Vidalia is 10 minutes away so not bad for food and some shopping. Would stay here again!
