I stayed here while traveling for business in Connecticut. The host is amazingly gracious and cooks and amazing roast chicken. She will gladly take care of most any accommodations that you need, including but not limited to tequila and eggs cooked to order. The rooms are very clean, ample parking, fast Wi-Fi, and gracious host. Also the ocean is a short 10min walk from the house. I highly recommend and will definitely be staying here in the future.

We rented the Bushnell House (under new ownership!) for my family to stay at for my cousin's wedding in Madison and it was perfect! Nancy is amazing; so communicative and incredibly helpful; she has thought of absolutely everything!

There were 8 adults, 2 kids, and 1 dog and we had an absolute blast! There was so much space for all of us to spread out, the house was spotlessly clean, and SO well appointed. The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking, there were toys, books, and games for the kids, and every little detail was so thoughtful -- dog bowls and local dog treats, beach towels and beach passes, snacks and a even a delicious bottle of local wine in the fridge.

The perfect place for a family gathering, we had a great time! Thank you, Nancy!

Stayed with the whole family, 13 of us in total, and the Bushnell House had zero problem comfortably accommodating us all. The house felt full, in a wonderful way, and not cramped. The bedrooms are a generous size with comfortable king beds, the kitchen had modern appliances against a charming, rustic frame and the porch and yard are nicely kept. Nancy, the owner and host, is a lovely person and went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. (I see a negative review about the owner - I have to assume this was the previous owner, as Nancy is none of the things described.) The location in Eastern CT was excellent as well, especially for kids. The local beach is maybe a 3 minute drive, Hammonasset State Park is nearby, as is the Essex Steam Train, Block Island, and lots to explore in Clinton and Madison. Hit Lobster's Landing for the best lobster rolls in the land and Clinton Crossing for some great shopping. It would be nice if there were central AC, but I understand this is coming in the future, and the smaller AC units in every room did a fine job. Really not much to complain about. Great house, great owner, great location - and I suspect it will only get better in the years to come.

Please be aware that if you make a reservation with the owner, Nancy, and she would like to change your room prior to your arrival and you do not agree, she will immediately cancel your reservation--no compromising at all. This just happened to me and my husband a few minutes ago. I had placed a deposit on a reservation for my birthday weekend at the end of April. This morning Nancy asked us if we would switch the room we selected to another room because she has a long-term guest who would like to extend her stay in the room we had chosen. She failed to tell us that the guest wanted to stay an additional 30 days. I explained as nicely as I could that my husband did not want to stay in a first-floor room and that we were really looking forward to the balcony in the room we had chosen. She did not like my answer and immediately cancelled our reservation without even compromising with us. What kind of business owner does this? Therefore, beware--you could make a reservation with Nancy, and if she has a better offer on the table, you are out whether you like it or not!

We have just returned from a wonderful (too-short) weekend in Westbrook - lucky enough to stay at the Bushnell House Inn for a graduation! A perfect place to share with fellow family - everyone had their own wonderful, private room, but also ample space indoors AND outdoors to gather for meals. Cozy, home-y, with LOTS of charm - and sparkling clean. A large indoor kitchen with everything one could need, and then an outdoor kitchen and patio too! A cozy New England front porch. Hosts could not have been friendlier or more welcoming - snacks, brochures, dog-friendly, etc. We felt so welcomed and well-taken care of! Thank you!

The Bushnell house is a great place, with a great owner who is , very ethical, and professional. My apologies to the woman whose room was given to me, and my infant puppy, Khalil. I extended our stay, and was afraid of stressing him with a venue change. Nancy truly has a soft spot for dogs, and couldn’t refuse. It’s all our fault. Please don’t hold it against Nancy.

The Bushnell House proved to be a terrific centrally located B&B for friend from NJ to MA to gather for a weekend. Having stayed at the sister Westbrook Inn previously, we returned to spend another fun-filled weekend enjoying many of the local attractions. Our rooms were immaculate and well-stocked with bath and beach towels. Branded toiletries were available. The AC units had been turned on in advance of our arrival to temper the 90 degree days. The ample breakfast, offering fresh fruit and juice, homemade breads, and eggs cooked to order at the Westbrook Inn, was tasty and filling. Service was friendly and professional. The innkeepers could not have been more welcoming, offering local guidance to ensure that we had a wonderful experience. We certainly did, so we will be back!

Excellent, spacious place to stay and explore the CT shoreline. The owner thought of everything, so there is something for all ages (need a toy? check out the Toys and Games cabin out back. need a book? plenty of them! beach pass for the car? snack? all there!). Superb kitchen, all bedrooms clean and comfortable and en suite. This is an excellent spot for a family reunion. Very impressed!
