I am thrilled to have found a great restaurant so quickly that has a friendly staff and incredible food. Cheers to the cashier who gave us great recommendations and was courteous from start to finish. Big shout out to the cook too, the chicken fingers were not your ordinary fried experience, both grilled or fried was cooked to perfection and retained great flavors!

Overall we mostly enjoyed our first time eating here. Food was okay and service was quick, but the fried chicken fingers were the star of the show. They were cooked fresh and their house dipping sauce was excellent. Besides the chicken fingers, the wings were almost cold and the kids shrimp tasted like it was frozen.

Decor could definitely use some work. The inside with the green ceiling and drab carpet desperately needs updating. Gave the whole place a really outdated, dreary feel.

I'd definitely come back for the chicken strips alone, but I'd be sure to order to-go next time. Not somewhere I'd recommend for a date night out.

Great stop. Had impromptu lunch here on Saturday, excellent experience. Classic southern food that doesn’t feel to heavy. Fried chicken was superb, not to mention the sauces and homemade ranch. Service was great as well.

Be prepared to pay them to place an order you will be picking up… food isn’t bad but the chicken was dry. Check your order before you leave I received 1 small dipping sauce for 4 fingers, 5 wings, and fried pickles. They did not give coworker my drink either. I will not order from here again. I shouldn’t have to pay you to place an order!

I can’t believe I’ve never eaten at The Breezeway until today. What a hidden gem! Didn’t know they’ve been around for almost 3 decades in Opelika!! The owner found out we’d never been there before and wanted us to sample their signature chicken fingers and brought out fried and grilled ones for all of us. OMG! I have honestly never tasted a piece of chicken that delicious!! It was so juicy and tender and seasoned to perfection! I can’t believe I was actually raving over a chicken tender! It was absolutely, insanely delicious! We also had fried shrimp, fried green beans, salads and sandwiches. It was all amazing. The owner, Gena, was a sweetheart! She says that we must try the catfish when we come back. And the bread pudding. It’s a date and can’t wait to go back!

EXCELLENT food, EXCELLENT customer service and Southern hospitality, and EXCELLENT value for your money! The hostess, maybe the owner? offered us free boneless tenders sample with 3 different sauces when she found it it was it first time there ever, and it was great. Loved the grilled ones best but everything else we had (Breezeway club, grilled chicken tenders basket, chocolate cake, white chocolate bread pudding) was lovely too!

My daughter is still wondering what the recipe is for that bread pudding, said it was the BEST she's ever had!

Soon as we walked out someone else was asking us down the street if we knew anywhere around there to eat cause they were starving! Pointed them immediately to this restaurant knowing they will be well taken care of on all counts! Husband loves the vibe and the food, reminds him of him in the old towns of Eastern Europe! ❤️

We were evacuating from the hurricane hitting our city in Florida. We were so blessed by an excellent home made meal with home made sauces and such kind people serving us! Our hearts and appetites needed this so much. Thank you! ❤️
