The Bertram Inn at Glenmoor - Canton, Ohio

A wind storm in early Spring of 2022 caused power outages throughout Stark County one Saturday morning. The area hotels quickly filled up with families seeking to escape their darkened neighborhoods. The Bertram Inn at Glenmoor was the only location with rooms left when I started checking for availability. This was the absolute worst hotel in which I have ever stayed. Upon entry, the reception desk is brightly lit and the desk staff were nice enough. However, upon entry to the elevator, then to the hallways, I noticed how dark and dank the everything was. The rooms are very outdated, sleeping in the hard bed was out of the question, and the shag carpet from the 70s must go!

Family stayed here while visiting Massillon. We chose this place because we enjoy the fitness area with basketball, raquetball, weight room and bunch of cardio equipment. The sauna, steam and hot tub in the locker room are also nice. I wish it would stay open past 6:00. The staff was friendly and we had no issues. Would stay here again if near Massillon especially during golf season.

We stayed at the Bertram for a wedding two weeks ago. The location is wonderful if the wedding is on site. Once you park you don't need to leave the property. Now for the hotel itself. The rooms are clean but very outdated. The hallways are dark and all the colors are from the 80's. They seem to miss all the details, we had no soap in the dispenser, no ironing board, water pressure was very low and the windows don't have the handles to close them so they were just open the entire time. If the owners would do a full reno this would be such an awesome place for events. It looks like an old castle. The ford was excellent at all the spots from breakfast, lunch on the patio and wedding dinner.

The Bertram Inn is a beautiful historic location with lots of vintage charm! I stayed here 2 nights for a wedding and was blown away by the level of service from all of the staff, from the concierge to the caterers/bartenders to the housekeeping and everything else. Bertram staff absolutely went above and beyond to accommodate all of us.

The rooms themselves are pretty dated, everything is in working order: the beds are soft, the water gets hot quick, and there was a nice little fridge and microwave and coffee maker so the amenities were fine. Poorly lit however, not many outlets to charge devices, and using a physical key often means having to jimmy the door in a particular way to get it to open.

The Bertram is an incredible value for the service and location. Great prices and accommodating staff. But if you're looking for modern amenities and creature comforts, this wouldn't be at the top of the list.

The rooms are outdated. We had a child with us and a stroller. There’s no indoor wheelchair ramp, so you have to go outside and go in a side door.
There’s a service fee if you eat at the restaurant Scott’s. There was no one else in the restaurant, fyi. They also didn’t want us using the bathroom in the main hallway even through we had a room. My sister had gotten wings and wanted to wash her hands. She literally showed them her hands and asked if they had anything to she could use to clean them. They then let her use the bathroom.
I ordered a lemon drop drink and it was the worse drink I’ve ever had. The food was terrible. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was nothing like a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. I also threw it all up so I wonder about the food storage.
The pool was also drained and there was no information about a hot tub.

The hotel is in a nice country club neighborhood, but once you walk through the hotel doors, it's a totally different story. The decor is supposed to be "Scottish" but actually looks like decor from 1989 (cheap Queen Ann Furniture and red and green wallpaper border). First, we could only get one key to the room. Then our room had no trash can in it, not even in the bathroom, and when we asked for one, it took two days to get it. But the biggest reason for my bad review is that they charged us $16 for snack food that we didn't even purchase. We complained about it twice, but we never got reimbursed. Also, my husband had to take apart the tub drain because there was so much hair in it, that it wouldn't drain. He also had to take the water filter off the sink because no water was coming through. The only positive thing I can say is that housekeeping did an exceptional job. We come to Canton several times a year, but as far as this hotel, never again.

Lovely setting, good food, pet friendly. But don't take any pictures of the pool when people are there. We left a day early, not worth the hassle.

My son got married in the area and the brides family choose Bertram as the destination hotel. We did not stay at the Inn but stayed at The Power House on the grounds. It has 13 rooms and 2 large bathrooms. We filled every room with our family members and absolutely loved it!! Keith and staff were so kind and helpful and even shared stories of the grounds with us. They set up extra tables and chairs in the common area for us to hold dinners and accommodated our every needs. I truly can not say enough about how great Keith and his staff was. Sincerely thank you to Keith!!
