My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Swan Lake B & B. It is a great place to enjoy God's creation and unplug from the stresses of life for a while. We had a tremendous view of the mountains and the lake while relaxing on the porch swing. My wife appreciated the homey decorations and the quaint feel to our room and common area. The bed was very comfortable and the private bath was a must for us. Finally, our breakfast was outstanding as served on the veranda overlooking the mountain vistas. Chris has a true servant spirit as she worked to maximize the hospitality we experienced during our stay.

Needing a restful, quiet place to spend a few days before a busy fall, my wife and I could not have been more pleased with our choice of Swan Lake B&B. Friends had stayed with Chris & Eric about 4 years previous to our visit and I had recently come across the flyer they had given us. Eric helped us with our reservation and everything was perfect when we arrived for our 2-night stay in the Hummingbird Hideaway. The home was built as a B&B with 2 rooms on the lower floor separated by a common area. Both rooms are spacious and impeccably clean. In fact, I noticed that Swan Lake had received a perfect score of 100 on their most recent state rating. Both rooms have porch swings overlooking the lake right outside their respective sliding glass doors. There is a paddle boat and row boat you can borrow and a nice walking path around the lake with interesting surprises at every turn (you'll see what we mean when you visit). And then there are Christine's breakfasts! Wow! Let's just say you won't need food again until dinner time. The Peach Croissant French Toast was simply awesome. And Christine's place settings make you feel extra special. A great walk on a unpaved, but flat trail can be found at the Lake Chatuge Recreation Area off Hwy. 288. We also recommend dinner at Michaelee's (the chocolate wraps are really good) and pizza at Big Al's, both in Hiawassee. The B&B is located 5 miles outside downtown Hiawassee. There's no wireless and your cell signal will be marginal at best so come prepared to get "unplugged" and enjoy some true peace and solitude at Swan Lake B&B.

A lovely little B&B located in the heart of mountains. Our room was decorated with the quaintness of your grandmothers home. The views are lovely with a porch swing outside our bedroom. The breakfast was served homestyle with home cooked foods that was delicious as we sit on the outside terrace and enjoyed nature's beautiful views. I would definitely stay there again.

We had a perfect getaway at Swan Lake. The drive up to the B&B from town was so worth it! What a gorgeous view from our very comfortable room and on the patio outside as we sat in the swing and chairs, and how much fun we had walking around the lake, smelling that mountain air and taking in the beauty of the unspoiled mountains. We loved sitting on the dock in the swing, too. Next time we will take a ride in the paddle boat. Christine's gourmet breakfast served outside was a special treat. She is a special lady and so attentive to every detail, including bird feeders all around and beautiful planters on the patio and along the rock stairs. We felt like royalty! ||A special treat was the breathtaking rhododendrons blooming along the driveway going up and at the B&B! Don't miss Hamilton Gardens if you go in the spring. The rhododendrons are unbelievable! We plan to go back and enjoy the beauty of the fall there and again in the spring! Thank you so much Christine and Eric!

My best friend from high school and I met at the Bed and Breakfast at Swan Lake for a "girls' weekend." I was immediately struck by the gorgeous views from the porch. Our host, Chris, was absolutely delightful! She gave us lots of tips about local restaurants and things to do. Breakfast was absolutely heavenly! The first day, we had strawberry-banana parfaits followed by Belgian waffles with a berry amaretto sauce. The second day, we have a fresh fruit salad, followed by the most wonderful frittata with fresh herbs, sausage skewers, grits, and lemon poppyseed muffins. I didn't want to leave!

The website photos looked like this was a place away from the noise of the city and it definitely was. This contemporary home sites above a small private lake away from busy roads and any railroad tracks! It's not an old home filled with antiques and we knew that going there but we were looking for some peace and quiet and found lots of that. Chris was very friendly and made a great recommendation for dinner. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty served on the upper deck overlooking the lake. If your traveling with family or anothet couple there is a large common area located between the 2 rooms that is great for gathering. Its located close to town and not hard to find even though it's in the country a bit. Theres a walking path around the lake which we took advantage of and even a small paddle boat available which we'll try out next time.. We'll be back when we're ready for some more quiet time...

My husband went to Young Harris College many years ago. We came to Hiawassee to meet with two former classmates and see the fall colors. Chris was a charming hostess who made breakfast for 5 of us to enjoy. What a treat to sit around a table and remember old times without the hassle of a restaurant. The view of the lake from our room was simply the best. The changes during the day from a foggy morning tobright sunlight and then the sunset light reflecting all the fall colors was beautiful.||||Thank you Chris for a memorable 3 days.
