Outstanding Service at Super 8 – Thanks to Justin!

I recently stayed at the Super 8 in Kent, Ohio, and had an absolutely fantastic experience, thanks to Representative Justin! From the moment I walked in, he went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and stress-free.

Justin greeted me with a warm smile and a professional yet friendly demeanor that instantly made me feel welcome. He was incredibly knowledgeable, answering all my questions with patience and enthusiasm. Whether it was recommending local dining spots or making sure I had everything I needed in my room, his customer service was top-notch.

The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, but what truly set this stay apart was Justin’s attention to detail and genuine care for guests. It’s rare to come across someone so dedicated to making sure every guest has the best possible experience.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly stay with five-star service, the Super 8 in Kent is the place to be—especially if you have the pleasure of being assisted by Justin. His professionalism, kindness, and exceptional service truly made my stay memorable. I’ll definitely be returning!

Positive: Ehh the cost Negative: Well mostly everything. Maybe it was just the room we got, but they should seriously consider washing the skirting for the beds. Not exactly fun, finding another mans children. Wasn't really much to feel comfortable about.

What a great staff! I forgot my phone and they kept it safe! Whoever forgot their jewelry this morning it is also safe! Just call them, they'll probably even be able to ship it to ya. Everything was wonderful. Check in and check out process was easy and pleasant. Staff was kind and helpful. Rooms are big and clean. Hotel appearance was clean. Plenty of parking. They had breakfast and vending machines. We will book this hotel again!

I know what you're thinking:
Super 8 locations are deserving only of subpar reviews by design, because after all...hotel rooms rented for less than $70/night simply cannot be any good - right?

This particular Super 8 location stands as undeniable proof of the fallacy surrounding this common misconception.

If you ever visit the big city of Kendallville IN you can find there a basic Best Western location (not the "plus" model that typically has a bar or restaurant on site) that you may just find to be one of the nicest hotels you've ever stayed in...also for a cost of less than $70/night (least that's what it used to be back in the day when I was a frequent visitor to that small strange corner of the world).

Anyway, of course the "get what you pay for" rule is always in effect, so absent from this hotel is anything "fancy". Examples of this include a limited breakfast selection consisting only of waffles, two common flavors of cold cereal, bread you can toast and jelly to spread, two common types of juice, and a bowel of apples.

However, even here the care and maintenance this location enjoys is clearly evident: the entire breakfast area is kept absolutely spotless, nothing is broken or even the slightest bit damaged in any way, and is instead in perfect working order.

All the hotel's furnishings can accurately be described as somewhat outdated, but the old outdated carpets are free of any big noticable stains, clutter, or trash of any kind.

The walls all appear to be only a short time removed from a fresh coat of paint. The linens in the rooms are of the style you may remember from Grandma's house, but they're clean and fresh and devoid of tears or stains or burn holes or bugs.

The bathrooms are equally clean and damage free, the blackout curtains are plenty wide enough to seriously darken the room at the height of the brightest mid-day sun, and no...the rooms and hallways do not smell of smoke (of any kind; cigarette, vape, or marijuana).

This place does have well-lit nterior corridors, which I know is a concern for some. The deadbolts and flip locks are existent, and installed correctly and securely.

All the in-room lighting works and several are wired to the switch on the wall just inside the doorway. The TV works, as does the remote, microwave, and small refrigerator - which by the way is of the larger variety capable of holding nearly a week's worth of groceries when sufficiently packed.

The check-in process seriously could not have gone any more smoothly: make a reservation in advance of your arrival, show your ID and CLC card to the incredibly nice young woman working the front desk, answer her one and only question about your phone number, and in less than 5 minutes she will be welcoming you to the hotel while handing you your room key.

This location is in fact one of the most CLC-friendly hotels I've experienced.

So, are you looking for fancy stuff at a swanky hotel in Kent OH? If you are, good luck and God bless.

If however, you're solely focused on what Tom Modell from the old Motel 6 commercials used to call a "clean comfortable room" for less than $70, than I'm telling you your search - at least in the big city of Kent - is over.

Get a great night's sleep in this quiet place, eat a decent no-frills breakfast, and head out to do the work you're in town to accomplish.

Save yours or your company's money for fancy hotels when you're on vacation with the fam, or find yourself in an area of the country where the cheapest rat infested rooms go for $150/night, and give this place a try when it fits your limited needs while you're working away from home.

You get what you pay for. We needed a room for one night and didn’t plan on spending much time there, so went cheap. The desk clerk switched us from a smoking to a nonsmoking room which was appreciated. The bedroom was ok and appeared to be recently renovated. But the bathroom was gross. Crud built up along the baseboards and in corners. The toilet was dirty. I splashed water on a spot to determine that it was not a stain. See the attached pictures. I’ll let the reader decide what it could be.

Great location! The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The staff was all very friendly and helped make my stay very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend
