We have stayed at this park numerous times over the past 10 years or so. We normally stay 1-2 weeks, and have Canadian friends that spend the winter there. As a preface - this park was sold by the family that owned it to a large corporation 2 years ago, and there are some noticeable changes.|This year we planned to stay 1-2 weeks, in November. We did not make a reservation as we'd had a lot of snow and did not know when we could get truck and trailer out of the snow and ice.|We arrived on a Saturday - the office hours are 9-3 M to F - so if you arrive on weekend, the gate staff assign you a vacant site, you give them your details and credit card number, then you go to office when they are open (M-F) to pay. |We got our site, all happy. Monday we left for Los Algodones early as we both had appt with dentist there. While there, we had calls from Bev, the office manager, that we had to move because some had our site reserved. We told her we couldn't move til back from Mexico. She insisted we move - we are both in dentist's chairs getting various things done. Bev was really being insistent. She said the people had booked our site for Dec 1 (extended stay )and showed up early (Nov 16), and they we waiting to move into our site.|We returned to park about 4:30p - the people that had the booking, starting Dec 1 for our site, had moved in next door and were very happy - no problems. They could have that site for snowbird season.|So, when we went to see Bev on Tuesday, and settle up for week, we get quite the lecture about not moving. Sorry - literally getting dental work done and couldn't exactly jump up and leave. Our question was - since when do people get to show up 2 weeks early and get the site they booked? No answer.|A few days go by and we decide we'd like to stay in Yuma for one more week - go to office on Dec 21 - ask Bev if we can stay on our site. Answer = no. Why? Because someone has it booked for season starting Dec 1 and they might show up early. Again, what? We thought the people next door to us had had the site booked. So then we ask if we can move to another site (there were probably 50 vacant sites in the pet section). Answer from Bev - NO. Why? They are all booked for arrival around Dec. 1. I explained that we would be leaving on Nov 30. She says, again, what if the people come early?|She got really rude and impossible and told us we couldn't stay there another week. It was unbelievable. BTW they do not have a modern reservation system. I think they have little pieces of paper and shuffle them around. Poor management and customer service.|I would have given Sun Vista 4 stars a couple of years ago - now 2 stars for the amenities and happy residents. Should probably get 1 star.|We moved across the street to The Palms. What a nice place! And nice staff! And nicer pools and spas! Similar happy Snowbirds! Check it out and compare for yourself.

The people in the park are extremely kind and welcoming. There is so much to do - so many amenities. As a Western Canadian, there are plenty of people with similar backgrounds (both Canadian and American) to relate to. But also plenty of folks from backgrounds you would have never thought you would meet!

We have had the best time since recently buying our Park Model! Everyone we've met is kind, helpful, good humored and respectful! The Cafe serves delicious breakfast and lunch! The people in the mail room have been helpful and kind! We haven't had time to get involved in activities, but we're looking forward to it! So many awesome activities to choose from! Sun Vista is the right choice for us!!|

Up side, It's a nice resort. Inside outside pool and hot tubs. RC car race track. Pickle ball courts. Shuffleboard. Pool tables. Nice main building for concerts, bingo, card games. Lots of activities. You can be as busy as you want.
Down side. No manager. Work campers run the place. Cable TV is obsolete. Corporate attitude means owners don't/won't interact with the customers.

Went in to see about an annual site.
They state they are pet friendly, they are not!
Only if you dog weighs under 40 Lbs can you get a site there.
Maybe try putting that on the website before you waste peopleโ€™s time.
When leaving we saw a gentleman with 2 dogs and combined weight would be well over 60lbs but thatโ€™s ok.
This park is only dog friendly to small dogs, so not really pet friendly as advertised

The menu is very limited, but also very inexpensive. Where else can one get dinner for $9.00? The food is good and the french fries are super. The hours are short and what else can I say to make up two hundred (200) characters? Have a good day and enjoy!

We stayed at Sun Vista RV resort for 8 weeks in 2024/ 2023..
We stayed there in a fifth wheel RV and what we found was the roads there are very skinny so it does make it very challenging to back your RV into your space there is no pull throughs the sites are not very wide everybody is packed in pretty tight it just so happens our site was even very cluttered when we arrived in leftover cobblestone and bricks from surrounding people doing landscaping for their park models or something like that but very untidy not cleaned up. This is a very old RV resort it looks like they might make small repairs each year but it needs work to be refreshed the pool area is very nice but when you go into the showers they are very dated and the main clubhouse area has been refreshed and is nice there's lots of activities to do so not to dwell I would just say this resort I would give it a three out of five I'm sure there's better and I'm sure there's worse
