Coming here was an awesome experience for me. It's off the beaten path a bit, but when I went there, even though I was 1 of 2 customers we sat and talked the 4 of us up until closing. The owners served us drinks and a great sandwich.

The food is high quality and the price is good. The people cool as heck and the service is great. It's very clean too.

I wasn't hungry when I went but I wish I hadn't eaten for days because I want to order a full meal there one day. Until next time stronghold!

Super nice staff, GREAT food. Even the pickiest eaters can find something they’ll like. It’s not a fast food type place for sure. Takes a little time to get your food but it is very worth the wait…especially if you are visiting with friends and sipping on their great cocktails 😉

I thought this would be a typical side of the road cafe, but the owners care about food! The meal was generous and so delicious! They try and use local food and everything was quality. The home made bread was amazing! I even think they made their own sour cream. Go visit them soon before they raise their prices. A meal like this would be $30 in Phoenix. They really should charge more. Such a pleasant place in the middle of the desert. I'm going back for breakfast tomorrow. FYI, they are only open Thursday through Sunday.

Went in for the fish special on a Friday night. The food was real good, made from scratch kind of food. The place was roomy enough, not packed. The iced tea wasn't much, it was pretty weak and lacking ice. It's certainly not a quick meal sort of place, it was about a two and a half hour dinner out for us with roughly an hour wait for our dinner. Again, good food just don't be in a hurry and you'll be pleased.

What a wonderful find! We worked up an appetite after hiking a few hours at Cochise Stronghold and were so happy to find the Stronghold Cafe. We had four people in our group and everything we ordered was done to perfection! The food was not only fresh and delicious, it was also reasonably priced! In addition, this family run restaurant was friendly and had exceptional service. We highly recommend!

Went last evening after hearing of their re-opening the dine-in areas. Had the Chopped Steak and all the trimmings, a beer and the house margarita as well and the total bill for two people was $40! I left with the dessert in hand, too stuffed and satisfied to finish it! Great food/portions, prices, and owners! Highly recommended! Can't wait to try the breakfasts!
