A stunning waterfall. A relatively short hike down from the Latchstring restaurant and you are greeted with an epic experience. Worth going to spearfish canyon just for this waterfall so make it a must on your list!

This waterfall is the best of the three in the area. There is a short trail around the side of the restaurant to get the best view of the falls. Speaking of the restaurant, they have signs up saying parking is only for their customers. This is a must see spot in the area.

We started down Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway and stopped at Bridal Veil Falls, Spearfish Falls, and Roughlock Falls.

Our second stop was Spearfish Falls (47ft). Park at the Latchstring Restaurant. On the right, you’ll see the map, to the right of that, there’s a small hidden platform to see the falls from the top. It just looks like a stream.

To get to the bottom platform, the trail starts on the left of the restaurant. Follow the pathway. A bit steep at first. There are signs of mountain lion sightings so stay together.

We spent a total of 30 mins here. It says the trail is 1.5 miles but I think that’s from the trail head not from the restaurant. We had a 4 year old to 80s and we all made it.

Nice short hike with beautiful wild flowers blooming late June. A lot of people are at the falls even on a Monday. Still worth to check out though.

I'm glad that a couple from Colorado told us to take the walk. It's an easy walk to see such a pretty waterfall. The walk back up was not bad either. That's where we came across the deer in the picture.

The 1.5 miles felt quick. The waterfall was gorgeous and relaxing to view. The trail paths are well kept, didn’t notice any litter. We took our time walking and taking photos, took us 30 minutes.
