It's an old motel so it's like going back in time. Clean enough for the age. Had some type film on window like they haven't been cleaned in a long time. Some type of food or something spatter on the TV screen.
My main complaint, no coffee. Deal breaker for me. It wasn't a bad stay but housekeeping needs more work. The blinding flood light out front was annoying when you want to set and watch the rain. Had toilet room separate from shower so that was a plus. Other than that, it's a place to rest.
Not far from downtown to enjoy the park and shops. Nice Xmas light Displays.

There is one simple thing that sets the Skyland Motel apart from the others, the nightly rate is fixed, NO EXTRA TAXES & NO HIGHER WEEKEND RATES! The rooms are about what you'd expect from any motel, nothing fancy but the owners are very nice people and are very respectful.

Pillows was flat we did not have enough towels and was told we could not get any more we stayed 2 days they did not clean room we was told we had ask if wanted cleaned in advance when most motels do less there's a donor disturb on door

Don't stop there, keep going. Yes it's cheap. But it stinks like curry. The tub was dirty when we checked in. I had to have housekeeping come clean it. There was a roach under my mother's pillow in the morning. The ice maker is broken. And the walls are paper thin. Just keep going, don't be tempted by thinking that this is an exaggeration, that it can't be that bad. Because that's what I thought after reading the other reviews.

Our family had a tragic happen to us while we were staying at sky land. The one's that run it were so caring and understanding. Plus we had a great house keeper that cared for my family. I just want to let them all know that I was very thankful.

Upkeep is minimal. Good people work there and the owner is nice, but a lot of things are broken or missing. No chain on door, no smoke alarms in some rooms, no water in one of two sinks. Worn carpets and bedding. But quiet and surprisingly comfortable.

From a giant, squashed, dead bug in the bathroom to not enough toilet paper to last two people 14 hours, I found myself disappointed in this affordable, but not-quite kept-up motel. ||On the good side, the sheets were white and clean and there was an air conditioner (albeit a very loud one). Otherwise, it was a little run-down and there were some maintenence issues that should be attended. ||It was ok, but not a place I enjoyed.

The owner is a drunk who gets super wasted, which explains why his wife is such a B word. They called police on me (after I had just paid for a 1 week stay with a extra 25$ a day fee for my dog,) for having a legally owned firearm and service animal. Guy didn't mind I had a dog until he got wasted later the same day, actually told me I couldn't walk the dog, nor leave him unattended in my room while I worked.guy told police I was a felon which was untrue and that my service dog scared him so much he couldn't sleep at night. I actually had to stay at the Baldwin city park for a week before I found a ride to Oklahoma
