Wow… just wow! I was having a craving for smothered pork chops and they did not disappoint. The service was very warm. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. The owner herself came out to make sure everyone was enjoying their meal. My personal favorites were the fried okra, cabbage collards, and of course the smothered pork chops. Everything was beautifully seasoned without being overly salty and the breading on anything fried was delicate, flavorful, and spectacularly crispy. Do yourself a favor and try this gem of a restaurant that serves the definition of comfort food.

Food is definitely good and it has soul. The pork chops were nice and tender, fried to perfection. The yams and cabbage reminded me of home cooking. The tilapia was boneless and fried perfectly. I was surprised at the portions because it was enough food to eat for a couple of days. Definitely a restaurant I will order from again.

This was by far the worst $30 on two plates I’ve ever spent. Sorry to say, but I have to be transparent here. There was nothing soul about it.
I have never seen anyone cook ribs, and screw them up . No flavor seasoning and left a terrible taste in my mouth. Also, the cabbage collards I give a 0 out of 10. Cornbread taste like water and salt.. Black Eyed Peas were sour… entire plate still in the fridge a day later and I am an avid soul food eater!!! lol no one in the house wanted the plate. I guess I’ll find a homeless person to give it to.
Now I Would like to know is who is keeping this place open? This food is definitely given helping hands soup kitchen Salvation Army. I don’t know.

Visited this restaurant while in town. The service and the food was top notch. I had the smothered pork chop with the collards and cabbage mix, Yellow rice and Mac and cheese. My daughter had the fried chicken and my wife had the oxtails. The pork chop was fork tender, the fried chicken was on point and the oxtails were very flavorful also. We all left happy and satisfied. I hope that are still there when we move there next year.

Sista’s Soul Food kitchen is the best food I’ve had in a very long time . I finally got to go eat there because everyone has been raving about it . It more than lived up to the hype . It was even better than I could have imagined. My husband loved it just as much as me . We are so lucky to have a place this good here in Albany so please support it and show them some love . I had the tilapia , green beans& yams and he had the smothered pork chop with rice and cabbage/collards & black eyed peas. It was all perfect !

This is my soul food place to eat at when I come home. I ordered the fried chicken dinner with Mac and
cheese and string beans. The chicken was seasoned to perfection. The string beans were amazingly good. This is a must stop for me whenever I'm in Albany. Oh, the sweet tea was a hit as well.

Nothing fancy. The Mac N cheese tastes like spaghetti. The cornbread was bland the cabbage/greens were not seasoned. Banana pudding was a hell no!!!! The chicken was ok. No napkins or utensils provided.
