This inn confuses me. I see generally good reviews as of recent. Though, the white blankets were quite stained and I was generally uncomfortable with the cleanliness of the room. Everything in the room was unplugged including the telephone and microwave. I figured maybe a guest unplugged them, but then I quickly realized there is no comfortable way to plug in the microwave. You have to put the microwave at a weird angle to get it to reach the outlet. Everything is just kind of awkward, like the fact that there were no towels by the sink. There were two sets of the little shampoo and conditioner bottles in the shower, though one set was half used. Due to the phone being unplugged we experienced many knocks at the door at 7:00 a.m. for a maintenance concern. For future reference I would hope the staff member would announce that they are a staff member instead of repeatedly knocking in different ways. As a group of women traveling alone we felt quite uncomfortable. Especially since the neighborhood was as it is. I try to be understanding but as a former hotel customer agent I found my experience here to be disappointing in terms of industry standards and cannot recommend it.

I had to have my parents stay here and given that this location used to be Quality Inn, I was quite worried with the previous reviews. I was very delighted to know I was wrong. My parents loved the management and the rooms were in decent condition! The new management is definitely doing their job right 🙂

Checking in was a breeze, they got me in an upstairs room, well built clean building, mostly looked recently painted. Amenities in the room itself were quite nice. Wish the shower head was higher on the wall, but had nice hot showers in there. Quiet at night, didn't notice any noise from University Ave.

This hotel has recently changed ownership and its name also changed about one month before I stayed. Very close to heart of Berkeley, room was clean, bright and well priced. Location made access to Berkeley and surrounding cites very convenient.

It has been a great stay. The hotel is at a very prime location - close to trader joe's, campus and different food outlets. Plus the front desk (new management) is very warm and helpful. Made stay quite comfortable.

Terrible neighbor, live next door and have had many incidents from this hotel. Even contacted cooperate and they would not even answer to their own cooperate. Went directly to the hotel to speak about various issues, the man at the front desk gave me a terrible attitude, and was snarky towards me. They have housed homeless people and others that were doing drugs in the hotel, and were sneaking people in through windows. The most recent is they keep bright led lights on all night on the side of the hotel shining directly into our bedrooms disrupting our sleep. Will be contacting the City for an intervention soon.

Update: Thanks for your response. If that is the case, please post your email for me and my neighbors to contact you. I am not aware of you being receptive to any input at all nor has anyone of my neighbors mentioned this.

This property is newly renovated! Front Desk was very friendly and knew a lot about the area. We ended up going to Fentons Ice cream!

This was the perfect place for attending a research conference at UC Berkeley. All the staff was welcoming and helpful throughout my stay.
