What can I say about our hotel? When we got there and tried to get into the hotel we found the electric doors didn’t work and the doors had to be opened manually. The swimming pool was freezing and some of the tiles around the rim were missing which is dangerous if you slip getting in or out. The showers at the pool were inoperable, the sauna was out of service. The hot tub was hot, which was great, but the jets were facing almost straight up so they were spouting water onto the walkway and not back into the water itself so you didn’t get the benefit of the water jets. The closet doors in the room were not able to be opened. They have a gym, which sounded like a great thing to do while on a trip. But, the bikes are broken. The back support on the universal gym and seat were loose and it kept moving, so it wasn’t safe to work out on. There was supposedly a nightlight which didn’t work. I reported all these things to the front desk and she said I’m so sorry. A lot of money for a comfortable room and not much else.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Location was very convenient with walking access to restaurants. Would have been 5 stars if breakfast was better. Cold food only and nothing fresh (eg fruit).

They kicked us out and called the cops on me and Rachel. This was after I stopped the maintenance man from barging into the room while Rachel was in the bathtub. Then Rachel had to hold the door and stop them a 2nd time while the front desk lady / Manager distracted me....||I left the key in the room and asked for help. I shared that my wife was deaf and in the bathtub. Instead of looking at hallway video showing me going in and out of the room all morning or sending a woman to the room... the maintenance man insisted that he had to make visual confirmation with her while she was in the bathtub. At this point I physically stopped him from entering the room. Then I made a complaint with the manager. While distracted they attempted to enter again. Luckily Rachel was now out of the bath and able to hold the door shut on the 2nd attempt. The end result was that we were both kicked out for life. This happened in October. ||- October 2024 ||Now they kicked out Rachel's son for letting his daughter, and immediate nieces and nephews swim along with a few adults there to help supervise... ||I was not there for the swimming incident that happened to Rachel's son this month but I described the swimming situation to the best of my knowledge.||- March 2025||I miss the good ole days when the Shilo was a landmark of our community... and why don't they serve breakfast anymore||Our hope is that they take a close look at their policies and management. I tried to cancel my reservation and the person was very rude. I was informed I went thru a 3 party to reserve and had to call them. I asked for # of company and her reply “ I don’t know you called them “ My bad that I didn’t write down all these numbers.! I was just reserving a room. After calling 5 different #s I finally spoke to someone that could help. Even though she told me it’s non-refundable ( a month away ) I’m not even going to cuss, but this is wrong ! She will send me an email with a claim info and hopefully I can get my $ back . I will never reserve a room at this company again

This place is now under new corporate owners, and it shows. The new owners are investing money to fix stuff the last owners would not fix. Great hotel that will only get better. Breakfast was great.

This hotel was a perfect landing spot for our road trip this holiday. The hotel is near great food options. Easy to get on/off the highway and it’s pet friendly. Would recommend staying here if when visiting.

This place was great. Room was spacious and clean. Great for dogs - areas to walk and pet fee was $15. There was a musty smell when I walked in but it didn’t bother me. I appreciated the cleanliness and the amenities- fridge, microwave and staff were friendly and location. I will stay again. I felt safe.
