The beds are comfortable and clean, the river is beautiful, the TV works, the staff is kind even though it sounds like they deal with tons of cranky guests. It's in a good location, feels safe. The grounds and buildings are spacious and well built. There are ducks on the river and deer wandering about. Yes, the carpets are stained and the rooms aren't immaculate or modern, but if you're easy going, this place hits the marks. Thank you!

We did not have a great experience to say the least. I was traveling with my wife and 9 month old. An exercise room was advertised, but when I tried to use it, there was an out of order sign and one machine in the room. The pool was cold, and there were no pool towels. When I went to ask the front desk person, she told me she had no towels to give me. She then said, “it’s not my fault, it’s not your fault”, implying that this location is mismanaged. I agree. We had already walked down to the pool and really wanted to use it, so I ran to Target and bought a couple of towels. The worst of it is, I emailed customer service and heard nothing back. Won’t be coming back to this Shilo Inns or probably any Shilo Inns in the future.

I love love love the jetted tub rooms! However, they seem to be having staffing issues. The room is mostly clean and when it is clean, it's missing something.. such as towels, cups, soap.. Housekeepers that just don't seem to care much. Front desk staff are very nice and helpful.
Also, the pool had a lot of chemicals. Could tell it was clean but burned your eyes. Also ants, by the womans shower room..

No kleenex, No cups on arrival
Bathroom and entry door equipped for ada but nothing else
Appliances:
Could not get any hot water from one sink. The other sink took quite some time to warm up
Mgmt said due to age of building getting hot water and fireplace going is complicated
Fridge lacked temperature control
Very noisy heater
Turned it off for the night but not enough bedding to be warm
Ended up sleeping in hoodie and sweats
Fireplace in room but not working despite turning dial several times
Bathroom:
Just two bath towels. No hand towels on arrival
Handles on bathroom door very loose
Hard to get hot water in shower
Visible toilet ring
Bedroom:
No charging plugs on the night table
Bed way too soft
Mgmt did come by. Provided extra blankets, cups and offered different room because of no hot water

Outside:
No way to shut off outdoor patio light; on all night
Laundry room:
most machines are Rusty and the room needs a good cleaning
the lint filter on the dryer was never cleaned
No soap or change dispenser and no indication of how long wash or drying cycle is
dryer took over an hour to dry laundry
Pool area:
spacious but needs updating
Rusty door handles and fixtures in women's bathroom

Shilo Inn is a complete joke as far as cleanliness and for what you pay. I've rented rooms from them several times and each time I'm not surprised at the level of disgust. I've been put in rooms they were not cleaned, did not have any towels provided, hairs all over the bed spread and bathroom shower. The units with kitchettes in the have had explosions in the freezer and fridges. The floors are absolutely disgusting. Management, Wes has walked in my room twice now assuming I was gone when infact I had the room for another night. So inappropriate!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This room was disgustingly filthy! I took pictures to show the front desk, and all that was said is, "Yeah, we've been having trouble with our housekeeping staff." They moved us to another room, which was cleaner but no coffee, proper amount of towels and no cups. It's a beautiful hotel which needs attention to both the staff and upkeep of the property. I figure if I didn't say anything, no one would know it has issues. Sorry.

This hotel/motel was unbelievable. I really don't know the words at how to explain it.||I am a fairly reasonable person and understand that nothing can be perfect nor near perfect in a hotel room. But, WOW! Unbelievable. We booked the room specifically as a portion of the hotel sits above the beautiful Deschutes River. We asked for and received a water view room with a balcony at a premium price due to the waterfront view. The concept of course was to drink wine and watch the river flow by. This was not the case. The porch had not been cleaned, no joke, a year? The photos will show this issues. I called the management after the first night. He said he would have it cleaned up. We left the next day to explore the forests. We came back to the room. Nothing done. The trash can was full (we had take out) bed unmade. We asked for the room to be tended to along with the porch. No one had entered the room.||||I walked to the clerk in the office, he told me the housekeepers can not come in to tidy up and make the bed and empty the trash unless we were in the room I tied to explain this was not the norm but he would not listen. I asked if someone could come and empty the trash? No, he said, we have staffing problems!! I had to located the dumpster and throw out my own trash. We made our own bed, no big deal.||||Then, we walked out on the porch. Not touched! This is not a job of a housekeeper but needed to be spray washed due to the grime, dirt, stains, spiderwebs and bird fecal matter along the entire railing. The chair we were supposed to sit in were also perches for the birds. Unusable. So, day two it was a pig style. We did not leave as other hotels were full and we unpacked and it was about 5:00 pm. So no balcony, I called the manger but as usual he was not on site. I called for the manager as per my phone log 22 times in two days. Not one time could anyone find him. ||||The photos show it all. I asked for a new room and the night manager said, the next room will be in the same condition. This new manager said yet again, we have staffing issues.||||Lastly, I asked if the owners took pride in this property, he said it is a corporate property and not a franchise. ||||The outside hallways are missing the necessary lights. Missing? Dangerous, it is really that dark. I picked up the phone in the room to call the night manager to ask them to be replaced, and the phone in the room did not work. OMG, worse hotel I EVER stayed in.

Positive: It has a great location, next to the river, has two pools, the beds were comfortable. Negative: The rooms could use some updating and more attention to detail in cleaning. The drawers were dirty and the sink didn't drain properly.
