This was a last min booking from the road for our family of 5. We arrived after the office closed but instructions were provided to access our room. Nothing fancy but the beds were newer and it was clean. Very quiet as well. We were all able to sleep comfortably and we were close to the attractions we were going to see the next day. Much less expensive then getting 2 rooms at another hotel. The only complaint was the air conditioner was tough to regulate. It was either too warm or freezing. All in all I would recommend staying here if you don’t need anything fancy.

A great grass roots 'Humboldt Classic' motel rich in memories from the glory days of Humboldt county calif.
Rooms are spacious and secluded while still in the heart of town for easy shopping within walking distance of everything in town
Great security alert onsite personnel caring honest and clean!

We stayed in 1 king room. Very spacious. Comfortable memory foam bed. Separate sink and vanity area from the bathroom. For an older hotel everything worked and very clean. Microwave mini fridge eating area and a double recliner. Cable with premium channels. Due to covid closure did not check out pool and hot tub. I would like to stay here again.

Great deal for an awesome Redwoods spot. Only 20 minutes from Avenue of the Giants, numerous river spots, drive through tree. The rooms are clean with new T.Vs and fridge freezer combos (fully functional freezer so helpful), microwave. Comfortable cotton quilts not weird scratchy decorative comforters that are often in motels. The pool has some great comfy lounging furniture. We had a blast, the lovely sights nearby were not crowded. The motel is set off the main road by a downhill drive and has a lower, downhill level of rooms which is nice for the woodsy feel if you arent trying to camp.Good for groups.

We stayed here one night and it was wonderful! Our road trip took longer than expected and we were late checking in, but I received a text with super easy instructions on how to get into the lockbox connected to our room and get our key. We had no issues finding our room and getting settled. The bed was so comfortable and the A/C worked great, it was pretty hot the day we were there so the cool air in our room was a nice break! We walked over to a small cafe and got breakfast and coffee in the morning, I loved how walkable it was to everything we needed. We were originally booked for two nights but once we saw those majestic redwoods we decided we just had to camp underneath them, we don’t have trees like that in Alabama:) They refunded our money and insisted it was no problem, I wasn’t expecting that, thank you so so much! This is an adorable motel with a family feel to it, we’ll definitely be back in the future!

I think they're trying to update this old motel but it's a long ways off from being done. It's owned by a small family. There are new comfortable mattresses and the rooms are quiet but the furniture is dilapidated and the carpet is old (but appeared clean) and the room is just dreary. The pool appeared to be nice but I think they would have been wiser to tackle the rooms first.

We were traveling with 5 people and Sherwood Forest had a room with 3 double beds for about $200 for one night. It was a great deal! The guest services folks were very helpful because we had an extremely late check-in. Some aspects of the space were dated, but it didn't really matter. The mattresses were out-of-this-world comfortable.||||My suggestions to housekeeping or management for the future with such large parties...please leave more coffee/fixins and toiletries.
