Sherry and her staff did an awesome job at my daughter’s wedding on the 28th! The food was delicious and the staff very professional. Despite it being the day after devastating hurricane Helene and having to use generators at the wedding venue, the staff didn’t skip a beat. She prepared the food for our event while also preparing food to feed the Blue Ridge Electric crews. Everything was perfect!

I was thoroughly disappointed. She has such good reviews, when I booked her in June 2024 for my December wedding I felt good. I went with a Christmas dinner since it was a Christmas wedding: baked ham, roasted chicken, Mac and Cheese (a classic right?!), sweet potato soufflé, bread, green beans, and salad. HOW DISAPPOINTING. I’m vegetarian but I heard from so many guests that the meat was really dry and bland. I tried to cut it myself and found it to be tough. The Mac and Cheese? I’m embarrassed-I’m a terrible cook and I could have done better with no recipe. It was literally macaroni noodles with a layer of cheese on top. I took one bite and wanted to pull it from the buffet. The only good thing was the green beans and sweet potato soufflé. Probably the most disappointing thing was the fact she reached out and asked TWICE how everything was. When I decided to respond and let her know, I never heard anything back from her. Not an apology, or feedback so she could improve for next time, nothing. I think that’s tacky as a business owner. My husband owns his own business and encouraged me to tell her because he would want to know, which is why I told her-“you can’t fix an issue if you don’t know there is one”. I wouldn’t recommend based on my overall experience.

I’ve had the opportunity to experience Sherry Lay’s catering service on several occasions; my own daughter’s wedding, for one, and more recently at the Oconee County Library’s Volunteer Dinner, as well as the Rotary Club luncheon, which kicked off Oktoberfest, 2024.

If it’s an important celebration in our county, you will most likely see Sherry Lay’s van parked out front.

You can always count on the food to be delicious, the desserts to be worth waiting for, and the sweet tea to be refreshing and in abundance!

We used Sherry’s catering service for a dinner rehearsal, and everyone loved it. Sherry was very flexible, and the food was delicious. She set up with very little space to work in, but got the job done, stayed until the dinner rehearsal was over, cleaned up, and told us that if we needed anything for the wedding the next day, to just let her know. She was very sweet, and everything was perfect, especially the super reasonable price! I highly recommend her service.

I had my wedding catered in November 2023 and I still have people today still talking about the shrimp and grits that was served. We chose breakfast for our catering and Sherry & her team did a perfect job communicating and executing all we wanted & needed.
