This is one of my favorite vacation spots, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The beach is stunning, the amenities and food is some of the best, and the staff is incredibly helpful and kind. I can't wait to come back here!

Love Sea Island. Grandparents went to Sea Island & stayed at The Cloister Hotel for their honeymoon in 1950’s & returned every year with kids as family grew. My parents went to Sea Island for their honeymoon in 1977 & also stayed at The Cloister Hotel (a gift from my Dad’s parents to carry on the tradition). For past 47 years, they’ve gone back with their kids (my brother & myself) as the family has grown over the years…. Definitely my favorite place to go on vacation & look forward to returning every year. Very special place to vacation & best family tradition is getting to go back again every year. Hopefully this is one family tradition that will continue on for many, many more years.

No idea about customer service. A group of hospitality professionals came and spent 4 days. Food is average and service is poor. 40 years in the business. They have a lot to learn. Avoid

Such a disappointment. We stayed at the Beach Club. PROS: The property is very nice and well-maintained. CONS: Everything else. There is only one pool for kids and by 9 am every chair has a towel on it whether it is occupied or not. The pool staff just shrugs and leaves them there all day instead of freeing up space for guests who are actually present at the pool. We ended up paying $800 on two separate days for a daybed in order to have a place to sit. Activities? What activities? The website hypes horseback riding, shooting, sunset boat rides, etc. Not one of these activities was available during our stay. They were all “full”. There is a small bowling alley on the property. We got the usual run around of, “you have to make a reservation on the website” even though there were 3 unoccupied employees standing behind the counter. Then we found out several lanes were out of order so that was another dead end. Southern Tide restaurant is awful. If you don’t make a reservation through the website, you will be told the wait is over a hour in spite of many open tables. Unfortunately there are very few casual dinner alternatives. We finally got off the property and found a couple of decent restaurants. If you’re going for the beach, you may want to rethink Sea Island. Beach chairs are plentiful but biting flies make sitting in them impossible unless you go armed with plenty of bug spray. The water is a muddy brown and very few people chose to go in past their knees. I would not go back to Sea Island if the trip was free.

Where to even start….A group of friends and I stayed at the Lake Cottages with sea island this Memorial Day weekend. Staying at the cottages we were able to get access to the whole island and the amenities. We were able to call a free shuttle back and forth which was very nice and convenient. The cottages are gorgeous and very nice. The start of the Downfall was the dinner at Southern Tide. Our reservation was at 8:15 that Saturday night. We did not start walking out until 11:47 after waiting an hour and fifteen mins for our check. After watching the whole restaurant be cleaned, tables be moved, and even the big doors being closed, i decided to ask why we haven’t got our check and i got “oh she’s still working on it”. At the end of the day i had to get up again and just beg them to put it all on one card since we were trying to split the check. Luckily we did not have anything planned so it wasn’t the worst part of the trip.

The worst part of the trip, which is the main reason everyone was so upset, was that we were told we could not bring any coolers on the beach. This was after us getting them all there from the cottages. After setting up on the beach we saw multiple coolers, small and large all over the beach. I have attached images of the ones close to us on the beach after being told our 12”x8” one was not allowed. One member of our group had to get it back to the rental house and joined us almost an hour after we set up.

Moral of the story is I wish the custom service was better, especially for the amount you pay!
