Very quiet and peaceful. Its like a time capsule. The woodwork, wood floors,and antique furniture is beautiful. Would stay there again.

The best B&B ever! So much atmosphere. We stay every year for the past 30ish years. A highlight of our trip! We come for the Tri State tractor show in Portland as do a lot of the guests during the same time. We have made some long time friends at the Schug House. Very comfortable beds!

I stayed here along with family (occupying a total of 4 rooms and the only occupants of the house). We enjoyed our stay very much. On Saturday evening we spent the evening chatting on the porch and we enjoyed a big family breakfast that the Innkeepers held. They were also very attentive to refilling coffee and other drinks. And the pastries were delicious! I was in room 2 and had more than adequate space. The room had a lot of character as well as its own restroom with a shower. If you have trouble with stairs, there are two rooms on the first floor. This was an affordable choice for us and provided our family from across the country to spend time together.

We actually rented rooms in the small Spanish style house next door. It is a nice older property, with a downstairs bedroom which I used, a living room, enclosed porch, kitchen and bath and upstairs rooms one of which my sister and brother in law used. We stayed two nights, and the first morning the Minch family who owns both houses brought us breakfast there. The second morning after the Schug house guests had left, we ate breakfast and took a tour. It also is lovely and old with baths for each bedroom and an enclosed upstairs porch. The hospitality was fantastic; we had a very good selection of homemade warm Amish baked goods, fruit, juice and coffee both mornings. The price is very reasonable, and I recommend going there whenever you have reason to stay in Berne!

My father and I stayed at the Schug House Inn in May. I had the Canopy Room which was very nice. Plenty of space and a TV was there, but I never turned it on. The towels were large and plush. My father had Room #3 and said he slept like a baby. The food in the morning was prompt and delicious. John and Jane Minch were wonderful hosts and the parlor was nice for greeting guests. Close to the Clock Tower which makes for a wonderful walk.

Just stayed here while attending a conference nearby (May 22, 2017). My room was perfect with everything I needed. It's a very homey atmosphere, so if you prefer the typical hotel room, you'll be disappointed. Each room is charming in it's own way. John and Jane go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. When we went in for breakfast, we were served on beautiful blue glass dishes. Service was great. I'd stay here again any time.

A group of friends and I stay at Schug House 4 nights twice each year to enjoy catching up with each other and scrapbooking. The proprietors and staff are phenomenal - feel more like family! The accommodations are lovely and the breakfast delicious. You won't be disappointed!
