Savannah Lakes RV Resort - Hardeeville, South Carolina

This newer campground needs to grow alot to be considered 5 stars. Here is what to expect (good and bad).
*** The common buildings are incredible. Sleek, modern, and lot of landscaping. The rest of the park has almost no landscape. There is more dirt than grass and there is nothing between the sites and the lakes.
** The lakes are really retention ponds. The stagnant water brought so many gnats that we couldn't enjoy the outside around our rig.
** The grounds are kept clean and free of debris.
** The wi-fi can't support the number of users at night. It will buffer.
** They do provide an app with useful information and free TV.
** The dog wash is a nice perk.
** The heated pool was freezing cold. I was told the heater was accidentally turned off (and then back on). But it was still cold several days later. The spa is warm but the jets don't work.
** The RV sites are large. The paved patio's for pull in sites are not in a good place - they will land behind your door.
** The dumpsters will overflow (as others have mentioned). When they are emptied, it's at 7:00am - during quiet hours.
** Everyone gets the same gate code which is not very secure.

This resort has potential. Just hope they continue to make upgrades.

This is 1 of our new favourite RV parks. Our family stayed here in late March and had a great stay. The whole place is new as of 2024 and it feels it only in the quality and cleanliness. All the staff we came upon were cool and seemed comfortable in what they were handling. The buildings are all wonderfully designed and laid out. I would let the designer do my next home. It was a pleasure to be there when we were. I almost don't want the word to get out its so good. We are already making plans to incorporate this place into our travel south again next winter.

Savannah Lakes is an outstanding campground. It has a lot of good looking buildings and office. The only flaw I can see is advertising. If you have to, pay someone at Garmin to include this campground you should. We are headed back to North Carolina from a month in Florida. We started checking campgrounds starting in Georgia using my Garmin which I did all the updates over the weekend, System and Maps. The first 5 places I checked did not have anything. My wife using her phone told me about this place. Garmin even with updates 2 days old could not find this wonderful campground. Google could and that is why we are here. I am guessing, but I don't know another campground that is better than what we have seen here. If we are down this way we will be back.

Overall we had a great stay at Savnnah Lakes. It is a newer RV resort so they are still getting things in order in terms of activities. Location is great, amenities are very nice. Plenty of space at this park, which is great because you don't feel like your hovering over your neighbor. Easy access on and off 10 and super close to Hilton Head and Savannah. Two dog parks side by side that are very nice.

Everything is very nice. The public buildings are amazing structures. The pool is nice. Great walk ways. Perfectly flat concrete pads. Its 99% Perfect. I just wish they'd drop some sod on the sites. Dirt and weeds is the only thing holding me back from saying this is a 100% Perfect park.

This is still a fairly new campground but staff is really good at addressing any questions or concerns. They are also always looking at adding events that will add to RVers experience. Sites are nice and easy to get into. If there are any negatives it seems like it is hard to get good grass to grow. A few sites seem to have poor drainage although I have seen staff try to address those sites. Still overall I think this is a very good campground and will definitely be back.

We are a full time traveling family and stayed monthly.
Pros: Campground amenities are very nice and clean (except for the dog park) and the sites are concrete and spacious. Events are fun and lively.

Cons: The speeding vehicles is the worst I’ve ever seen in A RV RESORT. When brought to corporate and managers nothing has been done. You’re told to report the campsites that were speeding. As a paying guest, it is not my job to ensure that your guests are following speed limits and figure out which site they’re staying at. The layout for sewer hookups, water, electric doesn’t line up on all sites. We travel across country and have never experienced such “trailer park” type living in a rv resort. If you stay monthly you are crammed in the back with all the construction contract workers who leave all early hours of the morning and fly down the campground roads right by you everyday. The pool area gets very slippery when wet, watched several kids slip and fall due to this. Dumpsters are super full, overflowing at times. Dog poop all over the dog parks most of the time. No fire pits or picnic tables, those camping essentials have to be rented. After awhile of no progress and things being left up to guests to handle problems we decided to cut our stay short.

This resort is ok. It's a shame they didn't leave that many trees for shade when they built this "luxury" resort. I believe it is a few years old now. It's starting to show the lack of maintenance. Pool needed to be cleaned, not sure if the bathhouse was ever cleaned in our time there. The bathrooms flood when taken a shower, and no squeegee to use to dry the floor. (Really bad design) They look to be leaking from the pool, or have a major irritation issue as there was water coming out of the ground by the pool when saturated the grass and the road. Lawn care was not completed and almost knee high in certain areas. Our area, looks like they just ran a mower by 1 side and didn't touch the other. They also charge $5 a night for a picnic table ....and a $40 "site lock fee" was way overpriced. I understand a lock in fee, of MAYBE $20 ...as in industry standards...... But also to charge for a picnic table at a CAMPGROUND that claims to be "luxury" with so many areas in which they need improvement.... Is a little much.
And No ..... fire rings, or grills are not a "standard" item here either. If you take in the "extra charges" ... It comes out to pretty darn close to competing with WALT DISNEY WORLD pricing. 😒 Although the staff are wonderful, I just don't see this place staying in "luxury" status long if they do not fix the maintenance issues. Will we be back Maybe.
