My husband and I stayed at Savage Point B&B for 4 nights in April. Laurel and Russel were amazing engaging hosts with fascinating life stories and interests. Their beautiful and tranquil home is the perfect place to stay as a home base in Kanab and is conveniently located to all the restaurants in town. It also has good proximity to Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness Area, Bryce, Zion and all the many other nearby natural wonders. Their hospitality is unmatched and we loved the delicious breakfasts they made for us every morning which included homemade preserves and jams. On the morning of our North Coyote Buttes hike, we had to leave very early, Laurel even made us muffins to go! Their beautiful garden is also a wonderful place to unwind after a busy day. We received so much love from their adorable doggos Shanti and Honey Bear as well as Kirby the ginger tabby and the sassy grey tabby (OH NO) Jacob. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants an unforgettable Southern Utah experience!

My husband and I spent 2 nights at this laid-back B&B. Laurel and Russell are very friendly, experienced and accommodating hosts. They invited us to enjoy the fruits of their garden and I appreciated the opportunity to use their sauna - very relaxing! The breakfasts (waffles one day, scrambled eggs the next) were delicious with fresh fruits and Laurel's homemade jams - mmm! For both breakfasts, Laurel very nicely accommodated my food allergies. They provided great advice on what to see in the local area. We found it very easy to chat with both Laurel and Russell. If you're visiting Kanab and want a relaxed B&B with a gentle atmosphere and a very comfy bed, we highly recommend Savage Point B&B.

Russell and Laurel are great hosts. Despite our late arrivals and early departures, they were very accommodating including working with my wife’s food allergies. Laurel’s breakfasts were outstanding, with homemade blue berry waffles and baked apple pancakes including fresh fruits from their garden. They’re very knowledgeable of the area and actually gave us great advice on places to see when we are weren’t able make other sites we wanted to visit, the Valley of Fire was a great place to visit on our way back to Las Vegas for our flight. Thanks Russell for the tip! It was one of the highlights of our trip. I was fascinated by the rock formations and the petroglyphs. This couple has a wealth of knowledge and experiences that makes us wish we had more time to hang out with them and hear more about their rich lives. Loved having the puppies to pet while being away from our own. Thanks for having us in your home. We would definitely stay with you again. ||Dave and Lisa.

I stayed with my partner and his mom for 4 nights and was so happy with my experience. Laurel & Russell were SO accommodating, kind, and helpful with hiking suggestions as they were park rangers for numerous years. Each morning, we had the freshest made breakfasts with great conversations. Also, free pet therapy as we were greeted lovingly by their adorable dogs and cats. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful time in Kanab staying with Laurel and Russell. We loved the rooms we had and especially that they were wonderfully cool... without loud air conditioning units... just due to the fact that the house is partly built into a gentle slope. We loved the wonderful breakfasts we got... staying for six nights we didn’t get the same twice! Omelettes, Quiche, French Toast, Fruits... days full of adventure and exploring cannot start any better! We could also use the garden and pick fresh peaches whenever we wanted. And our two daughters were absolutely in love with the Shanti and Honeybear (the dogs) and Kirby (the cat). Both Laurel and Russell also greatly supported us with insiders recommendations on where to go and what to do... So it couldn’t have been better. Highly recommended for families who love personal contact and have no issues with (very friendly!) pets.||Might be a bit of a cliché coming from an Austrian, but: I’ll be back 😉

My Husband and I spent 4 nights at the Savage Point Bed and Breakfast and it was delightful. Russell and Laurel welcomed us warmly to their home. This was our first time here.

Russell works as a park Ranger and the Escalante grand staircase national monument office so we really got some great personalized information on where we could go hiking. Laurel is a delight with her background including many different occupations and interesting stories stories to tell

The room is basically a basement like apartment with our own access door. There are stairs that go to the upstairs separated by a curtain. Hot breakfast was served in the kitchen at the top of the stairs. Russell and Laurel were available all the time with questions or needs, they are great hosts. It has a queen size bed and a bathroom with a tub. There is a woodburning stove as well. The entertainment system was awesome!! We loved the Swedish sauna. Very clean, Comfortable bed, nice gardens and sweet animal friends. It was nice not to have to figure out where to go or what to do because we has such fantastic hosts....It is the benefit I like most about going to a B and B. We will be back . Thanks Laurel and Rusell, Love Uli and Carol

Bed-wise and breakfast-wise, Savage Point is outstanding. Beyond those merits we appreciated Laurel & Russell on a couple other important levels. ||First was the insider advice that helped us plan our days and ultimately see at least double the attractions than we had originally planned (Kanab really is a gateway to so much). ||Second was the welcoming, home-like spirit we felt there, from the kindness they showed to our teenage boys (even pitching a tent for them to have a backyard camping adventure), the engaging stories of life inside/outside Utah, and the two adorable dogs who form the spirited and affectionate welcome committee. This is a couple who not only don’t mind sharing their home with others, but indeed truly relish it.
