I planned my whole trip around The Sassy Onion from Boise, Idaho to LincolnCity. I try to stop here every time I come to the coast. I have a very bad gluten allergy and I can eat all the gf food here. The chicken strips are to die for. I also had the banana bread French toast, and the daily special which was crab cakes eggs Benedict. My appetizer was a beautiful Bloody Mary made by the beautiful Sarah!(Don’t worry I didn’t eat it all by myself I shared)
The only downside to the sassy onion is they are only open until 2:00 so you’ve got to come early.

This is my first time coming to the Sassy Onion , I had the apple cinnamon swirl French toast and my friend had the hazelnut banana nut French toast. Mine was really good I like the crispy texture on the outside side. Her hazelnut banana nut was a little on the dry side but still delicious. The staff are friendly and the food only took 10 minutes to be served I would recommend this to my friends as well as strangers. Lol the only complaint I have, which is minor to most people, but the music station was on static the whole time for most people bother it’s not a problem but for me it makes me crazy. Please come and enjoy the sassy onion for their food and and friendly staff This is not a lottery friendly environment. I did didn’t use the restroom so I don’t have any info to give you there.

Bryce is an excellent server that provided wonderful service and good vibes. The homemade biscuits here was the star of the show and tasted so delicious, fluffy and definitely worth it! Our party had the blubbery pancake that was yummy as well. All around great food and service! Definitely recommend the original mess skillet too! Thank you Bryce & Sassy Team! 💜

Look how big and thick this french toast is! They bake their own bread for the french toast. This peachy blintz french toast is even more tasty with mascarpone cream cheese inside it. Very creative!

All the staffs are also very nice and friendly.

Keep Salem “sassy!” 🧅

The food was fantastic and the service was amazing.

The french toast was crispy. The coffee was hot. The biscuits were dense and rich.

I watched the waitress kick a creep out and it was super satisfying.

Went in for breakfast today and really enjoyed what we had! Had the sweet potato hash but had the eggs scrambled instead of poached. Also added the honey jalapeño gravy to the San Diego burrito and it was 👌👌

Everything is fresh and delicious. We were impressed with the amount of flavor put into the food. The chicken fried steak is homemade, and I’d highly recommend it. The San Diego skillet was packed with flavors. The skillets can also be made into burritos. Try upgrading your hash browns to “sassy” or “spicy”, where they add peppers and cheese. Even the strawberry jam to accompany our toast was homemade.

Wow! I was told yesterday that SO has gluten free choices, including onion rings, so I had to go see for myself. I ordered the GF chicken strips and onion rings. I have not eaten an onion ring for YEARS, and they were heavenly! And the chicken was the tenderest strips I have ever had. Their sauce was also excellent. Absolutely will be back!
