I fell in love with the Sandy Bar Ranch at first sight.
The cabins are so clean and stocked with everything one would need to cook and the hosts, Mark and Blythe, are so lovely!
My son got to milk a goat and we wandered the gardens every day and played at their amazing swim hole.
The cabins were built in the 1950s of redwood and detailed craftsmanship and have a nice back deck area that is great for sitting and just taking it all in.
This is definitely a place to recharge and relax. Highly recommend!

The perfect place to hang out with my visiting family. The cabins are super nice. We enjoyed deep talks by the river, and took a wonderful hike into the Marble Mtns. Wilderness with the 70+ year olds. The teenager enjoyed being able to access wifi in the pavilion and we love the gardens, goats and chickens on site. The beds are super comfortable and the kitchens have everything you can need for cooking up meals for everyone, even refrigerators. Our dogs loved playing with the friendly ones that live there.

These cabins are so peaceful and adorable. Blythe and Mark are great people and hosts. Bring your own food they have a well equipped full kitchen and their's only a couple small markets that I wouldn't count on having everything you need and no take out. The views are also spectacular and one year we saw nesting bald eagles in trees across the river.

We love Sandy Bar and have come many times. Baby goats were just born, and it was fun to spend time observing their antics. The cabins are clean, everything works, and situated on the Klamath River. It is a gorgeous setting; there is wifi if you need it in the office, but it was a vacation to be away from it for a few days. There are fruit trees and an organic garden and a brick oven for pizza. Blythe and Mark are wonderful and knowledgeable and fun. We will be back!

My wife and I stayed here in July 2019 and come back with three other couples this summer. The cabins are simple but comfortable with everything you need. Swimming is great in the Klamath River and there are narrow roads in the beautiful forest if you bring bicycles (preferably electric bikes; the hills are steep). Blythe and Erik are very accommodating and generous. And this time there was wifi available, not in the cabins but in the reception area.||||If you want to get away from your daily routine for a few days, this is the place to go.

We come to Sandy Bar every summer in August. This is our 4th time there with our kids, and the 5th trip we have made overall to Sandy Bar. If you like to fish, Kayak,Paddle board, or just swim, this region has many rivers and creeks nearby and a couple of lakes as well. Our favorite nearby river is the Salmon River. It is very clean and clear and offers some great swimming holes. Mark and Blythe are very nice and accommodating folks. They will keep you informed any give you their local knowledge about this region. They are off grid, but do have wi-fi if needed to chec-in or get work done if need be. It is nice to buy and eat the fresh produce grown on the property. My kids usually like to help milk the goats with Blythe in the mornings and help with the chickens. If you are looking for peace and quiet or adventure, Sandy Bar is the place for you!||The Klingonsmiths

You should be prepared with your own food, especially fresh food, (but there are plenty of wild berries in mid July.). There is one store in Orleans for essential goods and canned or frozen food. We enjoyed our stay very much, especially the Klamath river 300 ft from our cabin among the oaks and laurel trees. Swimming was terrific. The hosts are welcoming and congenial. They work hard on their ranch, having a surprisingly wide variety of fruit trees and pet goats. Next time we’ll bring bicycles to do backroads. The forest service in Orleans is friendly and helpful too. Leave your devices home though as there’s no connection and who needs it anyway. The cabins are cute and clean with all the amenities. There’s also great swimming in the Salmon River a few minutes away, and if traveling hwy 96, Dillon creek swimming is fantastic and not far. Can recommend this place for all who love the wilds and rivers.

First, all those Orleans pictures on TripAdvisor are from Sandy Bar Ranch...and we did them all. Second, nobody knows the Central Klamath area better than these people. Third, this is cabin camping among organic orchards above a gorgeous river at edge of the wilderness. Still with me? Good!|We were here for a week with 17 family members, from 75 to two in age, and coming together from all over the US. We cooked and ate in the communal kitchen and open dining patio, although each cabin has its own kitchen with a large fridge and stove/oven and seating for six. Meals were planned ahead and most food came in with us. Fruit, berries, herbs, some veggies, goat milk/cheese, and wood-fired custom pizza are already there in abundance.|YES, WILDERNESS! Expect to see bears, eagles, black-tail deer, mink, ospreys, geese, insects...but no motor homes and very few people. Getting to Orleans is a day's car trip from any direction, but the scenery in all directions is breathtaking and traffic simply does not exist.|Our families were busy from sunrise to campfire, with much of mid-day spent in the clear, cool river. Mid-day was HOT, but the well-built cabins stay comfortable. Nobody spent time staring at a screen. This is an active bodies environment. We took a "rate-it" vote every day...9/10.|Explore their extensive and informative website. You can believe everything they say.
