I’m from Brazil, and my friend is from Argentina. We love to brag about our steaks and churrasco. We found this location for an American BBQ when visiting Valdosta. And the experience was fantastic! There were great people and an excellent BBQ. We loved everything we tried. Ribs out of this world. They gave us some sausage and beans to try, and it was just as good as everything else. In summary, American BBQ like this one at Sam is a staple to the culture and must be passed on from generation to generation.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could! Seriously the best bbq I’ve ever had in my whole life! Sam is amazing! They all took great care of us and gave us an incredible sampler with all kinds of delicious meats. Loved the ribs and pulled pork and wow! The brisket was fire! The Mac and cheese was also insanely good! Everything was soooo good! If you have the chance to go.. don’t waste any time! It’s amazing!

Southern hospitality at its finest. Was on vacation and smelled the bbq from across the street while me and the family were at the GA pecan gift shop. Had to figure out where the mouth watering aroma was coming from, once we found it we were greeted with smiles and a vibe that made you feel like you were home. The owner let us sample their baked beans, ribs, chicken, pulled pork, potato salad, Cole slaw, sausage, rice with mixed in meat and lemonade ( had no idea he was doing this btw lol) and man let me tell you the homemade sauce he makes is out of this world GOOD!!! In my humble opinion I truly feel this is the best bbq I’ve had in my lifetime thus far lol, it is that GOOD! I ended up buying three mason jars of the homemade sauce to take back home. I ended up with the pulled pork plate, half slab of ribs and Mac and cheese with the rice and meat mixed in. Definitely give them a try if in Valdosta. Much love from the Tampa Bay Area.

While traveling to Valdosta, I visited Sam's BBQ late January 2025 and had such a wonderful experience, I returned twice more consecutive days!! The food is AMAZING! The BBQ ribs and chicken were cooked to perfection! Sam gave me a bag of his freshly homemade pork-rhines and a jar of his famous sauce... to die for!! I also tried the fried fish and had an order for another guest at my hotel as the delicious smelling food drove everyone crazy! The staff at Sam's is very pleasant as well. My go-to whenever I travel to the area!!

Delicious bbq and super friendly service. Prices were good and they give you a LOT of food. The gentleman helping us was very kind and let us sample different things. We got the sausage, pulled pork, potato salad, and baked beans. Beans were my favorite. Come here if you want authentic southern bbq.

Sam’s is THE best place to stop for BBQ. I’ve been to hundreds of places all around the south and the US. Sam’s is easily in the top three places I’ve ever been to. We tried all the sides and all the meats and everything is perfect. The mac and cheese is the best I’ve ever had anywhere, though. The ribs and sauces were all very good, too! The pictures I took do not give the dishes their due justice. But to top it all off, Sam gives the most friendly, down home service that you just can’t get hardly anywhere anymore. I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone. You cannot go wrong with any of Sam’s delicious BBQ!

Very friendly service, excellent BBQ, great sides, and HUGE portions. We got the 2 meat + 2 sides plate and it was big! We had sausage (three links + grilled onions + three hot dog buns), ribs (3 or 4 huge bones + two slices of bread), mac & cheese, and baked beans (with ground meat mixed in). It was more than two hungry travelers could share!

Food was amazing, ribs are fall off the bone and the pulled pork was tender. A little high but I mean for BBQ like that I would pay double that to get it again and they give you a good portion of food as well. Better than most BBQ places that are main stream.
