I had an amazing stay at SAMIR on NW Expressway! From the moment I walked in, Shay at the front desk made me feel welcome with her warm and friendly attitude. She was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making for a relaxing stay. The location is also perfect, with easy access to restaurants and shopping. If you’re looking for great hospitality, be sure to ask for Shay—she’s the best! Highly recommend this place!

If I could give this dump zero stars, I would. This is, without a doubt, the most disgusting hotel I have ever stepped foot in. It claims to be "smoke-free," but the entire place reeked like an ashtray. As soon as we walked in, the stench of cigarette smoke smacked us in the face. The receptionist, who had clearly just finished chain-smoking, barely acknowledged us and acted like we were an inconvenience.

The room? A filthy, unlivable nightmare. Dust covered every surface, the air was thick with smoke, and it was clear that no one had bothered to clean in ages. Within five minutes of being in the room, my baby started feeling sick—five minutes! That was all it took for this toxic environment to start affecting a child. We couldn’t even stay. It was that bad.

When we went to the front desk to complain and request a refund, the useless receptionist couldn’t have cared less. Instead of offering another room or even pretending to care, he just shrugged and told us to contact Booking.com because it wasn’t his problem. Zero customer service, zero effort, zero concern for the health and safety of guests.

We checked out within ten minutes of arriving. That’s how unbearable this place was. The fact that this hotel is still allowed to operate is beyond me. It’s a filthy, smoke-filled, health hazard that should be shut down immediately. If you value your health and sanity, stay far, FAR away. They charged me for 2 nights even though I couldn’t stay in the hotel for 5 mins. They’re not only dirty hotel but thieves.

The last time I stayed in a place this affordable for two nights, PLUS staying over for a third night, AND they ensured I kept the room after making another quick reservation online for the same kind of room, which had TV w/HDMI, Internet, single serving coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, hairdryer, and single-use toiletries, was NEVER. In other words, it has EVERYTHING for under 200 bucks for three nights.

This was better than I expected upon arrival. Check in was ok, $50 deposit is a pain and I find it disrespectful it’s as if they don’t trust you. Anyway, room was good, clean, well appointed, usual air con fridge microwave coffee make iron/board and safe. There is a small fitness room which I used everything worked well, but air con wasn’t that great. Breakfast next morning was basic, no hot food other than waffles or toast. Che k out was fine. Car park is large and safe. Wifi was ok.

I would advise anyone who needs a room for the night or multiple nights to steer clear of this hotel.

It’s a big scam. AC units are horrible . Spitting out cold air in the middle of winter , and you can’t do anything to change it . And it seems they can’t either.
However, the biggest problem they have is the fact that they charge you a deposit for the room you buy and they will not return it.
If you’ve read any of the other comments here in the review you will see ., they lie and accuse you of using drugs to keep your money . They charged me a deposit, and after a week and a half I called and told them I didn’t receive it. They lied and told me they had already sent it back to me . And it was my banks problem. I called my bank and the my bank informed me that my account is fine and it hadn’t received any money to my account.

This hotel is a fraud and it may be a front for something else . All in all , a very poor experience.

room was clean minor problems you can tell old room and some spotty patchwork done but all in all clean no smell and ac worked . There were some Homeless people around but no issue and hotel has cameras on parking lot

This is an honest review. This is one of the better hotels in the area for this price range. I am in between homes so I’ve been staying at this hotel for about two weeks now. I would like to start off by saying I do not have all my stuff with me as if I am moving into the hotel or staying long term. I have a separate storage with all my major stuff and am just carrying around two duffle bags. Upon check in I was told that the deposit for the room was $50. I was fine with this but asked if I could pay the DEPOSIT ONLY in cash so that I could get an immediate refund upon check out. Unfortunately I was told even if I pay the room on my card and the deposit in cash I would have to pay $100 cash deposit. When I was told I didn’t have that much in cash I was told all I had to do was go to the atm and get $50 more. This was a pain. But I still stayed. The room was better than expected as far as clinesness and overall comfortably. But,ve stayed in three different rooms here between floor 1 and 2 and every room had burn stains on the tub area and in the bathrooms. The door frames and handles are sort of rusted. You can tell this hotel is old but yet remodeled. But they did cut a few corners when it came to remodeling. But overall I like the “apartment/ extended stay” vibes it gave me when I walked in. They have a slight breakfast which is helpful. The front desk staff is ok. The men especially are pretty cool except the “manager” who looks like the youngest one working at the desk. He did things like snatch my card out my hand then when returning it each time he doesn’t put the card back in your hand he slaps it on the counter for you to pick up. He’s done this several times. When I came to the desk and ask for tissue he paused whatever he was watching on his phone, smacked his lips, and rolled his eyes. Proceeds to the back, slaps the tissue on the counter then sits back in the seat as resumes what he is watching. All women seem to have a “problem” with any and everything you do. When you go to get ice out the DIRTY ICE MACHINE they stare you down as if you’re in a restricted area. So overall dealing with the front desk stay gives me anxiety and I usually have my boyfriend go down to talk to them whenever we needed to extend our stay. I will be moving out of here this coming Friday into an apartment. So essentially the hotel played its role for me. My main issue was the stay was no very welcoming upon arrival or during my stay. There were multiple times where I wanted to just change hotels but could not because I would have to wait days for a refund therefore not having enough money for a different room and deposit.
