My family & I are guests from CA & after a spontaneous decision to stay the night in Tombstone, this establishment was the only place that had vacancy w/ 2 rooms available. We took the recommended king room from the lady at the front desk as it was more spacious. The room was room 11 (the Josie room) and although not extravagant, it was charming & very clean. The bed & pillows were comfortable and perfect for the 3 of us. What excited my husband & I was the DVD player! The front desk had a small DVD library & the lady was happy to loan us a couple movies that made for a perfect family movie night. As millenial parents, it was sweet nostalgia & showing our young son what the DVD player was & how it worked was a fun experience that got us all off our phones & our son off his tablet. If/when we make another visit to Tombstone, this place will definitely be on our radar.

We stayed here last February. It was a great trip!!! BUT! We came back in December for our anniversary. Rented the john Wayne room. It was a horrible experience!! 1st off, no one around motel. Key left taped to front door. So we get to our room, to find heater does not work. Call front desk, no one there, so I leave message. Never had a return call from office. Had to sleep in our jackets all night long. Then, the jacuzzi tub was filthy! The jets were gross!!
If I knew no one was going to call me back, we would of left and went to another motel instead of freezing all night!! What a huge disappointment! To this day, no one ever returned my calls.

Overall this is a fine motel. It is very close to the main area of Tombstone, A short 5-minute walk will get you to all the happenings. The cookies when you check in are very nice as well.
Our room has been renovated and overall the renovations are very nice.
A few complaints I have are as follows. First, the beds, very uncomfortable. I did not sleep well at all. They are hard, it with little to no cushion. I don't mind a firm mattress but these are just hard not cushy at all.
My second complaint comes down to cleanliness. Appearably it does seem clean but when I went to take a shower there was a wet wet washcloth hanging over the shower curtain. Obviously, housekeeping missed this detail but it makes me wonder what else did they possibly miss and not clean properly?
My other complaint comes down to the numerous windows in the room and none of them have blackout curtains. I'm a person who likes a dark room but that is a personal preference. Also, the air condition has a very bright light on it and it's up high so there's no way to cover it up with anything. So the bright shining lights and the hard bed made for a very not good night's sleep. Thank goodness we were only there for one night.
The property is very cute and definitely has a Tombstone feel.

Great stay and so close to Tombstone! I felt safe walking back and forth from the hotel even at night. The room was perfectly remodeled with such cute decor. There were a few things that I think would improve the hotel...I wish there a small table in the room. I wish there was a hook to hang up a bath towel especially since we don't get fresh towels every night we stay. Lastly, I wish the water pressure was a bit stronger. All in this room was fantastic and met our every need. I would stay again!

Book at the sage brush website since that gives you the best rate and so the hotel doesn't have to pay 3rd party booking vendors!

This is a classic, historic motel, and I'm so glad it has been preserved and is being renovated. We arrived late on a winter's night, it was dark, and I couldn't get the heater to work. But I called the number for help (office has limited hours), and Samantha answered quickly and explained the heater to me (remote is the thermostat, so the heat from your hand can prevent the minisplit heater from starting immediately). Heater worked, but to us the room was small and the bed left something to be desired. As a newly-engaged couple, we preferred a regular bathroom door that shut, rather than the barn door in this room. I emailed the owner, Es, who was as friendly and accommodating as you could ask, and we were able to switch to a larger room with a lovely view, nice queen beds, and a closable bathroom door. Our stay was wonderful. The staff is so friendly they became friends, and we will definitely go back. The location is excellent for walking to the old Tombstone area and driving down to Bisbee. We will definitely go back.

This place is great!! Spacious and clean rooms with comfortable beds. Room decor with western theme and a front porch facing the mountains. Plenty of parking and easy walking distance to Allen St/downtown area. We'll be staying here every time we visit the area.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the fireplace in the common area. Easy to unload vehicle into room. We had a hard time getting a hold of someone at the front desk since it appeared to be closed until mid-evening. This was mildly frustrating.

My husband and I just stayed here and absolutely loved it. The rooms are very nice, it was very quiet and very comfortable. Within walking distance to town. I highly recommend a stay here. We were in the Doc Holiday room. My only suggestion would be to put disposable cups in the room, there was a nice coffee pot in room with coffee and condiments but no cups so we had to pass on the coffee. Check in was easy, our key was in an envelope on the front door of the hotel. I truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back with family.
